UT Austin Art School! Help Me!

Ok, So next year I plan on going to UT austin as a design major. I know a major requirement of this is to submit my portfolio of work but I'm confused as to what I put into the portfolio as well as how much that is weighted compared to my grades. Sadly I'm also OOS and in the top 20 percent of my class (3.5gpa, loads of extra curriculars, community service, tutor, double varsity athlete, APs, ect) I'm just really confused as to how difficult it is to get in as an art major compared to a communications or buisness major.

Here are a couple of references:

[Students : Department of Art and Art History : University of Texas at Austin](http://www.finearts.utexas.edu/aah/students/undergraduate/portfolio_instructions.cfm)

Keep in mind you can get accepted to the Fine Arts department and then not get accepted to the University. Unless you play football, you need to excell at both your field and general academic study.

Here are some stats on admissions…

http://www.utexas.edu/academic/ima/sites/default/files/SHB11-12Students.pdf

If you read through this document and focus on AI and PAI you can get an idea of the formula and how your portfolio is weighted.

Thank you so much! Anyone accepted if your reading this, could you PM me some of your work?

What happens if the department accepts me but the University doesnt?
