Ut austin cap (later transfer to moody college in ut)

My son is junior.
He wants to study film in college.
His dream school is UT .(moody college)
(Which is media major)
His grade and sat are not great to get accepted UT directly.

But if he is accepted to UT for cap program, is it possible to transfer to moody college in UT?

Because UT cap is only for liberal art major.

My son said he emailed one of admission
Office person, and they said he could.

But I am not sure about this.

Meeting the requirements of the CAP program only ensures you admittance to the college of liberal arts. He will be treated as a potential transfer school for any other college at UT.
