I paid my $50 deposit early October. Does that mean that I get an earlier spot in line even if I accept UT itself later? I don’t know if I’m going to be going to UT for sure yet, won’t know till April, so should I be concerned about getting the dorms I want?
And does getting into Honors guarantee an Honors dorm? I’m a little confused on that.
@BrickBean My kid’s status is the same as yours. Has been since October.
So I have a question. I just checked my status and housing tab was added. But my app still shows that it’s in review. Does housing tab added to the app mean nothing?
@CHICHIL Yes, it means nothing. You will get an explicit email if there was a change in your admission status. Got an email yesterday to check MyStatus when there was an admitted decision.
When is the next time that admission statuses could be updated?
@cw2 Late February would be the last round of acceptances with all decisions by March 1st.

I got into Communications Undeclared which was my first choice major, but after I applied I realized I would rather get a business degree. Does anyone know if it’s possible to change before this fall? If I need to wait until next fall to transfer, does anyone have suggestions on what classes to take??

@kmlehane, you realize we can go back and read your prior posts and threads? It is very normal to change your mind on your major. You appeared set to apply to McCombs in August. What changed? McCombs really likes to see they are your first choice major.
You may unfortunately now be part of the mass of students that compete almost entirely on GPA for internal transfer to McCombs after 2 semesters. It can be done, but makes for a stressful first year. I hope Admissions has a better answer for you!
Has anybody heard back from the college of education?
My D just got regular admission to UT Austin CNS for Neuroscience Major. She’s also applied for the Honors program. Does anyone know for sure whether the Honors apps are processed and decided on separately? I.e., should she still expect to hear the Honors apps, or is this it? Thanks.

Yah the honors program is decided on separately, it should come the same time as the financial aid, that’s what my admission officer said.

Moody accepts to the college not the major. Hence, they don’t require supplemental materials for specific majors. It is also why students can switch majors within Moody no questions asked.
In the past, many have gotten a yes / no the first week of February.
