@EmpirestateDad Did you happen to find out if they admit you to the University even if you don’t get into the school you applied to? I mean, if you applied for engineering, do they say “You can come here if you want to change your major”? I can’t seem to find an answer to that as all data I have applies only to auto-admits who get that opportunity due to the law.
@HankE There’s actually a thread for 2017 CNS Honors. Check there for the latest updates, but sadly no one has gotten any results (accept/deny/waitlist).
@spankytoes that’s right, only the auto admits have that privilege by law. Auto admits are accepted to UT first, then their major/school.
Also, as an exception COLA permits 'undeclared ’ majors but I don’t think Cockrell does.
For OOS, I think its safer to pick a less competitive second major within the same school, in case you don’t get into the first choice major. Heck, it’s all pure conjecture on my part, I guess we’ll find out during the wave next Friday, Feb 17.
@redskins2017 I never said that I knew a lot about the admissions. Where did you get that weird idea and what’s wrong with responding here everyday? In fact, I’ve learned a lot from this thread more than I could have alone. Redundant questions? No question is redundant, mate. The more you ask, the more you know. It’s only how you take it. UT’s twitter replies to everyone’s tweet the same way, in case you have not noticed.
And just cause I have a dp and am noticeably visible while you’re scrolling doesn’t mean I’m the only one commenting here so frequently.
@empirestated hi, when they said decisions will be released by march 1st, did it also include international decisions? i saw on twitter that internationals should expect a decision only by mid-april, so i’m kinda confused!
Can someone chance me?

@nyanpasu_ that includes everyone, even international applicants. You can also call to make sure.
UT has made it clear that international applicants will hear back closer to mid April so stop asking when you’ll hear back. They literally responded that to you directly. You answer everybody’s questions when you don’t know the answers yourself. And you are not the only person on here frequently, but you are the only one who is annoying. Not trying to be rude, but tone it down a notch dude. @sean191297
@redskins2017 @sean191297 Stop arguing here. If ya’ll wanna argue, argue through your messages. Not on a public thread like this.
For everyone who is non auto admit and who is still waiting to find out, how many tabs do you have on the dashboard, my son used to have 4, one was Freshmen Admission, under that Housing, then financial aid and then scholarship but just when he check his Mystatus the financial aid tab is gone, it is still part of the 5 up top though.
@redskins2017 i was the one who just asked when results would be out… just saying
I originally had 5 tabs, now I have 4: Freshman Admission, Freshman Honors, Housing, and Scholarship–my Financial Aid tab is gone too :-?
i am not talking about just today i’m talking about the past month @nyanpansu_
but i’m done now
@potatotush ok well at least my son isn’t the only one. Not sure what it means
Odd. Mine still has 5 tabs
Mine still has 5 tabs, too.
Daughter is Studio Art Major and just received notification in her Portal this evening that she’s accepted! Checked earlier this afternoon too but no updates at that time. Recommend checking often - didn’t receive an email either.
Well I hope it isn’t a bad sign that his financial aid tab under the dashboard tab isn’t there anymore, like I said its up at the top going across but not under the dashboard anymore
5 for me too.
@redskins2017 I did NOT ask them when international students would be receiving their decisions.
FIRSTLY see the question and THEN the answer, please.
This was my first question, “I’ve applied on 09/16 as an international student, yet have not received the admissions decision. Is this normal?” (I clearly wanted to know why some people received their decisions earlier than others)
UT Austin Admissions reply, “@sean191297 Yes. International students should not expect decisions until mid-April. http://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/decisions”
My second question, “Will all or most of the admissions decisions be given out on Feb 17?” (I was confirming about what I have been informed on this thread)
They reply, “@sean191297 No news on that yet, and international applicants should expect decisions closer to mid-April.”
If they keep mentioning the KNOWN decision date (which is mid-April for international students), is that my problem?
When you check the deadlines for submitting the applications, the dates are CLEARLY mentioned on their main website including the Notification of decisions’ dates. I might not know much, but I am confident that I know the basics and can help others very well within my ability. If you don’t appreciate what I do, there’s always an option to IGNORE.
Sorry, I just wanted to get it off my chest. Conversation discontinued.
