UT Austin Class of 2021 Thread

@nduclaunc unless you are an international applicant, there’s a good chance you’ll hear this friday

@honeynut12
@sean191297 has a very special application process of his own

@sean191297 actually, lemme change my opinion. Yield protection DOES exist. But if it does happen, it’s secondary to the reason as to why an applicant was rejected. When I get home, I’ll try to elaborate

@ad93107 There’s no denying the possibility I might (:

@honeynut12 Thank you for correction. I’d love to know more about it.

I somewhat agree with @sean191297. Some competitive schools, maybe not UT, look at the FAFSA. If they see their schools name at the top of the list, they react positively and some negatively. The FAFSA is the only place where the other schools can see which colleges the applicant applied or sent the FAFSA form to.

@EmpirestateDad is there any chance they’d take being 3rd on the list in a bad way?

@EmpirestateDad That is no longer true. Schools can’t see the other schools receiving the FAFSA.

So I’ve heard that only like half of decisions will go out this Friday, but y’all are saying all of them. Does anyone have a good source on the chances of finding out or not?

Everyone on here is speculating that decisions will go out Friday based on what happened in prior years. UT Admissions states on their website that most decisions will be released by March 1. Consider it a bonus if you find out sooner.

@itsgettingreal17 you’re right as of 2016-17 they can’t see. Previously they could.

@FloMoMom how many people found out on the 17th last year? Does anyone know?

@warrior101x Not sure about the number, but if you check out the UT Austin’s class of 2020 thread, you will find many applicants commenting about their admissions decisions on that day of the previous year and onwards with a steady decrease in the quantity and a drastic increase in the number of complaints.

My daughter was admitted November so thankfully no stressing here, but I am waiting excitedly to hear all the great news for so many here still waiting! Hoping this is your week to get great news!

My daughter had 3 tabs previously under the dashboard, and now she has 5. So, this could mean absolutely nothing. Or, it could mean that the tabs are required to allow UT to provides lots of helpful info when they notify her of her acceptance. Or, it could be an additional 2 places for them to type “Rejected!”
I will remain hopeful for her haha.

any OOS people been admitted yet??

@FloMoMom It’s been stated several times that everything here is speculation. There have been a few posters that have independently confirmed that Friday, February 17, 2017, will be “Decision Day” based on conversations with their school counselor(s) and admissions personnel at UT. There is no way to confirm this as fact. Based on previous years, online statuses are updated on Fridays. However, this information could only be applicable to Texas applicants, applicants for certain schools, old information based on outdated procedures or completely false. No one knows for certain when the final determinations will go out, only that non-international students will receive their fate before March 1, 2017.

Hang in there

This friday should be the next wave of acceptances being sent out. Last year nothing was sent out on the 17th since it was a Wednesday. But UT did sent out admission decisions on February 19th which was the 3rd Friday of the moth as is the 17th this year. So there is a very high chance that on this friday most of the admission decisions will be sent out.

Could someone search for last last years thread and check when the decisions were released?

Im on mobile right now

@honeynut12 it started around 330 i think. My son got his around 530 pm ish. People got them all night and into the next morning I believe and there were a few exceptions like honors I think that actually were not out yet by that weekend

Will CAP and PACE be released at the same time with this next wave?
