That’s what freaked me out because 1 would be the lowest. I don’t think they would post the rubric score openly like this. So hopefully that’s not a score. Maybe its a check that it has passed thro’ one admissions officer? @Oldhorn mine has always been a grey play button.
I believe the number indicates the version of the essay submitted. You are allowed to submit each essay a maximum of two times. For example, I submitted one of my essays, then edited it and submitted it again. So for my Topic A, it shows two essays, one with a 1 (first version) and one with a 2 (second version).
Phewww is that it?
for those of you who are asking who confirmed that Feb 17th will be the day when the final wave of decisions come, this is what UT admissions personnel said during a “Visit UT” event for admitted students and their parents last week.
(my D was admitted to COLA)
. for the class 2021 UT has received the largest number of applications, 50k (last year was 47k, the previous year 43k)
. on 2/17/17 there will be about 8,500 more acceptances and “that’s it” (his words)
. at the end about 19,000 total would be accepted for an expected enrollment of approx. 8500-9000
good luck to all of you!
@RaRugged that’s helpful. Thanks a lot. Would the 8,500 be full admissions to UT or they would include CAP & PACE acceptances too?
@glee. not sure. he just said 8500 additional admissions.
I feel so nervous as an international student after waiting for four months
Another question about that 8500 additional acceptances- are those all non-auto admits or does that include auto-admits that just haven’t gotten into their major yet? Thoughts??
Just wondering how many submitted 3 essays versus the required 2. We were advised against the third. The counselor at school said the first two were excellent and didn’t think a 3rd one would be necessary. Now wondering if the third would have helped at this point.
@texasdad9799 they did not say. the admission stats were briefly mentioned without additional detail.
@austingal Honestly, if the two essays are solid, I don’t think it’s necessary to submit a third. It would just be extra information to read that wouldn’t help the applicant’s case. Just my opinion.
Also, 19000-8500=10500. Does that mean 10500 people have been accepted already??
@funyunz yes he did say that.
@RAR from your lips to God’s ear [-O<
@RAR That’s interesting considering that UT keeps mentioning on Twitter that most haven’t heard back yet. :-/
@funyunz. i dont know about that discrepancy. he mentioned twice 8500 as the number of new/final acceptances.
and he mentioned 19k as approximately total accepted for this class.
Just got an email saying “The Office of Financial Aid (OFA) has electronically received your 2017-2018 FAFSA from the U.S. Department of Education.”. Maybe this means they are gearing up to release decisions?
@austingal I have one child who submitted just two essays and one who submitted all three. Both were accepted into BHP.
@durna01 when did you send in your FAFSA?
Back in December, but I just realized that we had submitted a correction yesterday, and they seem to send this out every time they receive a FAFSA submission.
