Yeah, I can attest to his helpfulness and credibility on the subreddit!
I just wanna get in. Good luck to everyone.
Wow. Well maybe I shouldn’t have put business as my first choice Major X_X wasn’t worried before, but now…
Personally, I just remind myself that no matter what happens, I’ll be alright. Not going to UT won’t break my life. There are so many colleges and opportunities out there.
If it makes any of y’all feel better (or laugh), just remember, if I don’t get accepted tomorrow, I have to work tomorrow night, and I work at a place where I have to where a longhorn shirt and am surrounded by Longhorns. (Can’t say where exactly,
But it’s associated with UT). So that’ll be really rough if I don’t get in.
@warrior101x Haha that would be insult to injury! Maybe UT will consider that situation of yours…
@warrior101x Yea, I can kind of relate. On Saturday I’m supposed to hang out with a bunch of friends who have been auto-admitted. It’s going to be brutal 2 days from now if I get denied.
@honeynut12 Exactly, you can find success anywhere. It’s what you do at your college that matters, not where you go.
@KohliTheBeast I know right! Yeah I made sure I included it in my essays. I said like “I spend my workdays working with tons of UT alumni and hearing their success stories from their alma mater” and made sure to say a bunch how I worked with so many UT people. I got to even meet and talk to people like Vince young, Matthew Mcconaghey (twice), Jordan speith, etc. hopefully that stuff helps but I doubt it would.
Good luck y’all!!!
My DD has always had UT as her #1 choice but over the last several months of “waiting” she has opened herself up to really examining the other schools who already accepted her. Now she may be leaning towards A&M simply because they have a great program in Public Health (her chosen major) and an amazing honors program for Freshmen. I still hope she has the opportunity to choose…we shall see:)
@honeynut2 mstudents on THIS site need to be aware that, unless a poster is verified as admissions staff member by CC, the only 100% credible source on admission procedures is the university admission office directly.
I’m not sure if any of you are faithful, (disregard if you are not or do not want to hear) but personally, this is something I have been reiterating on every thread before decisions:
Many people get denied from their dream school every year.
And then, they go to a different university, and have a testimony to how they got rejected for a reason- because they ended up exactly where they were meant to be.
I believe every instance like this is a step along our path, and if you are denied, god has a greater plan and it was not meant to be. You will end up where you are meant to be, and though it hurts when you’re rejected and isn’t good advice at the time to really put out the pain, god has a wonderful plan for each of you. Remain hopeful in that, even if UT austin is not your next step. (Myself included).
Good luck to everyone today. And if you don’t hear today, DONT lose hope. I have confirmed with admissions and a few friends I have that go to UT, that acceptances will still go out after today, just not nearly as many. But good luck to everyone. If you get in, go. You won’t regret it. If I get in, I plan on committing within an hour.
So are we looking for decisions to start rolling out around noon?
@braves177 i think we should expect it in the afternoon
Good luck everyone, hoping to hear back today. I’m a OOS RTF (:
Two years ago, decision came out around 1:30 - 2:00 CST – I remember being surprised kids were getting their decisions while sitting in school. Though sooner is better than later, hopefully, they will wait until the kids are out of school and home with support around them.
Do we get an e-mail telling us the decision, or just telling us to check the applicant portal or whatever?
