Hey! I’ll be majoring in pre-pharmacy for undergrad and I was just wondering which dorms are near the College of Natural Science (CNS) building? My top choices are San Jac and Jester East so I’m not sure how far (walking distance) these dorms are to classes. What are the other dorms that are near/close by the Science building? Also, should I do shared or community bathroom? If shared, I really don’t like cleaning or taking out me and my roommate trashes everyday. But if community, how good/bad is it? Any suggestions and inputs would be great!
My son lives in a dorm with community bathrooms, and he says they are very clean. He prefers them.
As for location, I would recommend that you be closer to a library than your classes. My son says it much more inconvenient to be far away from the library very late at night than far away from your classes during the day! Just a thought…

San Jac will be the farthest and I think it only has shared baths, not community. I had community way back when (Jester West) and it was great. The honors quad dorms are close to the science buildings and close to the UGL library. Jester West/Jester East/MooreHill/Brack/Prather are all close together and across the street from the PCL library. At a meeting for CNS majors during Best of Texas, they said TAs hold study sessions every night M-Th in study rooms on the first floor of Jester. That makes Jester mighty convenient. You will get used to walking to & from classes, lugging your backpack. At UT, students tend to lose the freshmen 15 rather than gain!
