I don’t understand why you are required to be 20 years old in order to be eligible for the Terry Foundation Scholarship. I’m 19, but If I have the same amount of credits as a 20 year old, why should I be excluded from the opportunity.
@waspoppin Thanks a bunch.
@mperez172 No I was not.
@Manelsea2000 Thanks so much. No they did not email me. You check the portal and ‘boom’.
whens the last date for the results to come out
Its May and I’ve just been waiting
feels like forever
@123vgabc The final notification date is June 15th, the date is available on the website
@123vgabc do you have under 24 hours? If so, I heard it may be slightly later than the June 15th deadline
I called today and they said it’s gonna be out in the next two weeks. I’m international tho
So they’re gonna start releasing in 2 weeks or are they gonna be sending out decisions throughout the next 2 weeks?
Does it mean they want our spring grades, i mean might as well send them.
I believe If they want your spring grades before making your decision it will state that in your my status.
Considering the fact they are already releasing decisions for people with adequate credits, I don’t think they will make people submit spring transcripts. It would only be fair for them to request spring grades if you are below the credit requirement.
@se7en1een i’m an international too! I’m from Australia and studying Elec. Eng. Where are you from?
When you called them, did they say they would release decisions over the next two weeks or in two weeks?
Anyone on here a nursing school applicant? I’m noticing that the acceptance list has zero nursing majors listed. I wonder if they’ve even started processing those apps?!
Hoping for a big wave this evening guys!!
@jankma15 I’m from China and I went to a community college in the US (not TX tho). They said, “you should hear back in the next two weeks”.
Even if decisions come out tonight, I have to vent about universities in general giving such late notice. It’s really unprofessional.
I’m a summer applicant who had their materials in months ago. I’m employed full-time at a university and take classes as a part-time student as a perk of employment. In order to give my employer notice of my departure on a reasonable time-frame I eventually had to quit on faith. Where am I going? Am I even going? Even that decision to quit on faith put them in a time crunch due to the time it takes to fill positions at our university. Perhaps I would have continued the current situation longer, but I needed to give them more certainty than I had.
I had to do something similar with my apartment rental, which requires two month notice to leave. On that one I waited until I had news of some sort from a Texas university, because otherwise I’d remain at my current university, just as a full-time student. Fortunately I got into TAMU at the very end of April. The following day I submitted notice to my property manager that I’ll be leaving in a month. Because they require two months notice, I’ll be paying for a month that I’m not using. There is very literally a cost to these notification cycles. If TAMU hadn’t gotten back to me, I’d be looking at closer to 2 months rent and utilities on an empty apartment.
If you can’t notify people in a reasonable timeframe, ask for materials earlier. If the documents are not an issue, hire more people. If neither of these are the problem, then find out what the problem is. This is not inevitable. I also applied to the University of Toronto as an international transfer student. They receive more applications than UT Austin. Nevertheless, I got my acceptance from them in March. Clearly it’s not that hard to do. So what is the problem?
Maybe the problem is that if I’m accepted to UT Austin I’ll still go. So from their perspective it doesn’t matter if their notification cycle costs me a thousand dollars in rent and utilities, and made it hard on my current employer, and was generally annoying. There’s no discernible cost to them. What reason do they have to do better? Transfer students in general–and definitely transfer students who need for one reason or another to start in summer–are not their priority. The only reason for them to do better would be if they had some inherent desire for excellence in the admissions department.
I’ve read through some of this thread the other night and saw that people have began to receive their decisions and that Friday nights are a common date for waves of decisions to be released, and for 7pm CT to be the time for the release. So should we look out for some update at/by 7PM ct tonight or is it at a random time?
