UT Austin Fall 2019 Transfer

@ba2pt2 Totally agree with you. I’ve got responsibilities I need to tend to also and I got accepted to TAMU back in February. I originally wanted to go to UT but they’re taking so damn long I just accepted TAMU’s offer and I’m an Aggie now! Can’t sit around waiting forever with no end in sight.

Hey! I’m international too (Poland) and I also go to a community college in the U.S.

Wow. I did not expect to wait so long for the decisions. I was hoping we would hear back in the middle of April.

How do they expect us to find housing so late

There is a Transfer Living Experience type thing and they actually team up with Housing and Dining,

I agree with all of you it is getting kind of ridiculous. I’m just trying to find some clarity and direction in regards to my undergraduate studies, and it’s extremely difficult with their lack of cooperation. I would understand the delay if they needed my spring grades to evaluate my application, but they aren’t going to request them because I have adequate credits. The least they could do is attempt to communicate any delays or new information to us, but clearly they don’t care.

Does anyone know if it is advisable to send in spring grades if UT doesn’t request them?

Would they request them if you have 24-30+ hours?

@witlessStudent that’s what A&M wanted from me. I have 52 credits hours and a 3.0 GPA. First semester was a little rough. They want to see how I’m doing this semester so they can finalize a decision. I’m going to send in my spring transcript to UT anyways just to be safe. One of my classes is actually a core so that’s why I’m sending mine in.

@witless so I would send in your spring transcript just to be safe.

@sweetsassysaira Thanks. I will when grades are posted.

Like others, I just want UT to knowledge my existence and simply requesting my spring transcripts to make a final decision is satisfying enough, but it has yet to happen.

@sweetsassysaira where did you hear about the transfer living plan? i’m super nervous I won’t have a place to live or get stuck living somewhere I don’t like

Have you all applied for housing?

I was able to put my final transcripts in on Monday of this week, and my application just got changed to in review yesterday. Anyone have a clue as to when I might know my admissions decision?

@witlessStudent do not send in your spring transcripts if they don’t request them. It won’t help you. Many advise against it.

@collegegirl1026 probably the last week of May or 1st week of June. Speaking from personal experience.

The suspense from this admission process is killing me. Something tells me that the majority of us won’t have decisions until june. :frowning:

@adrian3243 thanks for the input. It’s just a hard decision to make. I have already been accepted at Boston University, but they have to know my decision by June 1st. I really want to attend UT Austin, but I’ll see where this admissions decision goes.

@collegegirl1026 I understand. This is my second time going through the admissions process and I’ve already been accepted to Baylor and St. Eds and they both need my decision soon.

@speechpathopeful they sent out an email a while back

June 1st is rapidly approaching and I in the case I do get into UT Austin I would really like to visit. How do I tour possibly 3+ schools - that are scattered across the country - in the next couple weeks?

@collegegirl1026, same here with BU. Have you already toured campus? I am trying to hold out until the event on the 31st of this month, but in order to attend, I’ll have to enroll and pay the deposit.

BU, Boston, or Baylor? I’ve toured Boston, if I can help.
