UT Austin Fall 2019 Transfer

@carmelxleon omg congrats!!! So happy for you!

I got accepted today around 7:45 for BS in Psychology! I have a 3.89 and 27 hours, 2 LOR from my English prof and US Gov Prof! My two essays were honestly not my best writing and I was really late on submitting my application. I also transferred from ACC. Good luck everyone and Hook em!

@holtym I originally had a 3.0 but due to the roughness of the classes, I was taking in an extreme amount of stress in myself and my GPA dropped to a 2.5. I did my calculations and I will have a 3.5-3.7 by the end of fall semester.

Wish you guys the best of luck and hope to see you this upcoming fall semester!

It sucks to think the one thing that probably let me down was bombing my Calculus 2 final that got me my only B. Two years of academic rigor, relearning everything from Pre-Algebra up through Differential Equations clawing for a 4.0, and one bad test dashed my Texas dreams against the rocks.

Best of luck to all of you in your future endeavors.

Rejected rtf :frowning:

@samfilm I’m so sorry. What about your second choice? I know that you were really hoping for admissions this year, but keep your head up.

@Gtownboogie thank you i really appreciate it. Im going to UNT now which is no austin but its still good. It was my final time i could apply so ut is no more for me sadly

CS still in review… are they going to release the decision over the weekend?

@Ramshorn I really think you should appeal! You sound like an amazing candidate! I doubt having one B got you denied because some people on here got accepted with 3.4 GPAs! Definitely appeal it’s worth a shot! And thank you for your service!

Rejected from Moody, Journalism. Second choice was advertising. UT lost a good one. GPA 3.63, good essays, 3 LORs, stacked resume. Either the admissions team is lazy af because we’re receiving decisions last minute, or they just didn’t look hard enough. S’all good. Syracuse University it is!

Like the comment above me, I was also rejected from Moody for Journalism. I didn’t put a second choice option so I just had journalism. I had a 3.75 first semester and 3.56 second semester so like a 3.6 I guess cum. I’m not surprised because I’m an OOS transfer and I’m not like an amazing student like some people on here so I’m not too upset! I’ve just always wanted to go to a Texas university but I guess now I have to apply somewhere else.

personally, I’m getting annoyed that each decision has come out in waves and not everyone has heard back yet. I don’t know how other schools admission is since I went to a really really small school of about 1,600 kids total but I wish UT released everyones decision all at once or at least everyone in each schools decision all at once. Its kinda getting ridiculous that we have waited so long when every other school has already given decisions and most schools have already extended all their waitlist offers… UT cant be getting such an extremely high number of transfer applicants that they wouldn’t be able to release decisions quicker. Also not to rant much more but the ratio of OOS to in-state transfer acceptances is kinda ridiculous UT accepts 95% of in-state 3% OOS and 2% international to me that ratio seems quite low… anyway sorry for the rant

@ftransfer2019 keep your head up. Dream school or no dream school, when you have a passion for something and you know deep down you can be better than your competitors, there is nothing that can stop you. Rejections will mold you and give you fuel to be the best there is wherever you plan to attend. This is a part of life, everyone has a different route. You’ll be fine in the future if you work hard enough and WILL be recognized, trust me. It’ll definitely pay off. Best of luck to you, set a goal for yourself and crush it. You got this.

Got rejected for CS
3.66 gpa
Let’s get real only that matters

rejected. of course i was rejected. well guess im stuck now at crappy utsa

Is there all rejections coming out today?

@novatosoca yeah I agree… Idk why it’s such a big deal for Texans to go to their school. I also think that Texas law that if you’re in the top whatever percent of your class you automatically get in. It’s annoying too cause so many Texans leave Texas for other schools. I know a few people from my small first year college who came from Texas and didn’t choose a Texas university. I get wanting to support citizens from the state but that ratio is definitely insane. I feel like if I was a Texas resident I would’ve gotten in. On CC some Moody students got in with literally a 3.48 GPA like huh???

@Irsh007 thank you so much for those kind words! I’m definitely seeing this as a “not meant for me” kind of situation. I know wherever I end up is where I’m meant to be. If I hadn’t gone to my first year school I wouldn’t have met my best friend who’s my actual twin! I’m excited to see where I’ll go from here. Good luck to you too!

It’s not just rejections. Some people on discord have gotten accepted
