I was wondering what my chances were in getting into UT Austin’s nursing major. I have a 4.62 weighted GPA, I did not send in my SAT score, I’ve taken many AP science classes and am the president of numerous clubs and captain of my tennis team. I am also auto-admit. Also, has anyone gotten into the nursing major yet?
Weight GPA is not used mostly as some other HS has 6 scale, 10 scale even 100 scale GPA.
Ranking is reviewed first, if not available, UT Austin look at unweighted GPA as one of the factors, since most students are 4.0 unweighted, UT then use course strength to calculate a metric for a particular department. UT care about the scores of your AP classes in HS transcript, not really the AP test scores with college board (which is used in Honor application though)
Last couple of years see BSN accepting mostly top 2% HS ranking students. This year is going to be different. COVID does affect many students’ decision of applying for nursing so there is no new figure can be determined.
