I’m from New York, and if I get accepted I still have to drive down to Texas AND find housing. I’m really hoping there are still places available! I would hate to get accepted and have no housing. I would consider living in my car.
@hanjhutch same situation as me except I am in DC
@najgns just curious, what are your first and last initals and your major? i’m still waiting to hear back and i have about the same stats so idk how they’re doing this ughhhhh
has anyone heard back today, i’m going to go crazy. I tried to call the admissions office and all i got was a dial tone. I’ve been waiting forever and cannot imagine waiting another 2 days. i’d like to think i have good credentials (3.74 gpa 3 letters of recommendation, average-ish resume and 2 decent essays) and i’m a government applicant, but the longer i’m kept waiting, the more i believe that i’ve been rejected because i’ve only seen people post that they’ve been accepted, no rejections yet. UGHHHHHH this is insane
I’m also applying to government and I haven’t heard anything either. My grades weren’t great, but I am wanting to transfer to UT with 59 credit hours from an Ivy. I am hoping the waiting just means they are actually considering me rather than outright putting me in the deny pile.
Government major here still in review as well. My GPA is 3.94. I hope we hear something today or I’ll go insane and pull off a Charlie Whitman one.
Well I know for a fact I’m rejected now. I contacted the Econ department regarding my applied calculus grades and apparently they don’t transfer for Econ but for business only. So either they’ll place me in my second choice major (Islamic Studies) or I’m rejected. Waiting for the denial now…
what do you mean? is applied calc something different than calc @yyss998
It was one of the options on the UT calculus site and you can only take it from select institutions for admission to UT and the college where I’m at right now is one of them. Idk if it’s different from Calc Or not but it definitely is a calculus.
@yyss998 Islamic studies sounds interesting but I hope you get in your first choice major
Thank you! I actually appealed to UT about giving me a second choice major because of this misconception on the website. I didn’t have a second choice before and they actually accepted and gave it to me a day ago. Probably because I attached conversations with the Econ department acknowledging the sites confusing phrasing.
@longhorn322 just trying I guess. if not, I have USC lined up. mainly because of the distance and also in-state tuition at a pretty good school
@utguyguyguy “Applied Calculus” probably refers to the less rigorous calculus typically required in business and economics degrees at other institutions. But at UT Austin the business and economics programs require regular calculus, i.e the same taken by math, science, or engineering majors.
I can’t. This process just sucks.
It’s ridiculous
I feel that it is extremely disheartening knowing that just two days ago we saw people celebrating their acceptance and so we all get excited and wait on ours and then they leave us hanging for two days… smh
Such is life.
School of education and I still haven’t heard back. Hopefully next week lol
Was thinking, as I do…why aren’t we hearing more rejections? UT rejects way more than they accept. Wouldn’t you notify the rejections firstly? I’d think doing that would make the selection process a bit easier.
My thought is people were denied and are not sharing the information on this forum ¯_(ツ)_/¯ @Sith77 it’s not statistically possible for the amount of people accepted to not be within ratio of the people denied. As users have stated before, most look/watch in from a distance, but do not participate in conversation.
