@UTBABE It was almost 2 weeks, (12 days).
@aggiecheermom I have not, and there was no point in being accepted if i don’t have a place to live haha. that’s a joke but it’s becoming more and more of a legitimate concern at this point. i wonder why UT takes so long to let us know about these really important things? I was waking up in cold sweats because i was convinced that because it took UT a month and a half longer than A&M to let me know that I’d been rejected, and i wasn’t about to apply for housing and pay $50 dollars to a school I probably wasn’t going to go to, and then they let me know and I immediately applied for housing, and now it’s well over 2 weeks later, and i still haven’t heard anything back from housing. I hope i hear back before the new year, but. it’s becoming less and less likely that that’ll happen considering the holidays are coming up.
Has anyone here who got denied submitted an appeal?
@TXfiretoMed Great to hear, congrats!
@raptor4459, TXfiretoMed appealed on 12-12-2018 and was accepted yesterday. Here’s TXfiretoMed prior post about appealing:

UPDATE:
I was previously denied last Friday. 3.86, excellent resume, LOR, essays, worked as ff/medic for 10 years, etc. Major: Health and Society (I’m pre-med). Not gonna lie, I was a bit surprised I got rejected so early in the process. I felt like my chances were iffy, maybe 50/50 if I was lucky. But, to be rejected so early in the process was a surprise.
As it turns out, there was an issue with my Academic fresh start paperwork. I had a 3.0 GPA with a single bad semester over 10 years ago. Without that semester my GPA jumps up tremendously. 3.0 must be a lower limit cutoff in their system.
I am back in the process and my IDE is now showing up. Before, it hadn’t updated. There’s gotta be something to that.
I’m still crossing my fingers. We’ll see! As for appeals go, they are basically useless if you don’t have some sort of major error with your application or some sort of new information.
I’ll let you all know what happens…
So i got accepted but I’m about to decline my offer because my financial aid is not enough. It does cover my tuition but doesnt cover housing and dining and I cant afford it without private loans (12% interest) , do you guys have any suggestions?
My second choice is A&M and rent is cheap in college station, so theres that.
@IAJ2019 Did you get some financial aid from A&M that would help cover living costs? A couple years ago my son was in the same position as you, got into A&M, was waiting on UT decision, and started looking at apartment in College Station. Housing costs in Austin and College Station near campus for students were nearly identical at that time.
This site indicates that living expenses are actually lower in Austin than in College Station

@IAJ2019: I would check my status with A&M before declining your offer from UT. Unless something changed or you were just admitted to A&M the deadline to accept your place was Dec 15th.
We got lucky and my daughter received her UT acceptance on Dec 11th. She declined A&M on the 14th and then on the 18th she got an email from A&M that she received a transfer scholarship. It wasn’t something she applied for, but it probably would have factored into her decision about where to go if she received in prior to declining her acceptance to A&M.
I would shop around for better loan rates. The direct parent loan is about 7%, if I remember correctly. All sorts of banks and credit unions offer student loans.

Good look to everyone else!
I haven’t heard back bc I was told a response required my final transcript first. So I sent it over after the semester ended, & they received it, but the message that its required still hasn’t gone away. Anyone else dealing with this or know if it’s normal?
How do I pay my enrollment deposit? Where is it on MYSTATUS? I can not find it anywhere
my appeal has been under review since December 17th. I understand that the office of admissions was closed between December 21-January 2, but dang this appeal process takes forever. I’m just frustrated because USC starts on January 7th, and if I don’t hear back from UT, I’ll have already started the semester… has anyone heard back from their appeal if they submitted?
Call and tell them your situation I guess. their transfer orientation is on Jan 14th they’ll let you know before that I guess
Best of luck for your future endeavours -Hira

Were you able to access your audit? @Abe3hunna
@Abe3hunna What classes did you take? Do you have any EC’s? What about your personal statement? I am applying as a transfer for public health for fall 2019 and I am super nervous about it.
@Unknown892 What were your stats? I am applying for Public Health for fall 2019.
@habbas0723 My appeal has been in review since Dec 20th and I still haven’t heard back. The admissions office said they have until the 12th day of class to let us know , and that it usually takes 4-6 weeks . ugh.
@raptor4459 are you serious…? I heard the transfer orientation was on Monday January 14th
