UT Chances?

Hello, I'm a senior and my central goal is to find a college best suited for me to get into medical school. I plan on getting into UT and majoring in Clinical Lab. UT seems to be getting more competitive every year, and I'm just so concerned about not making it.

STATS:
4.43 GPA/about 3.68 unweighted
82/923 (top 8.88%)

SAT Scores:
Math: 610
Reading: 670
Writing: 640
I'm retaking the SAT, since I'm so close to the 2000s, and I'm going to be taking the ACT in hopes of doing a better job with that test. I heard a lot of people are much more successful with the ACT.

ECs/Leadership Qualities:
I hosted a school benefit show to donate to nonprofit charities to help Ugandan children. The concert raised $4000+ and collaborated various clubs, from Student Council to Interact Club, together for amazing volunteer opportunities.
4 years of choir
Social Officer of our Students for Christ Club
and I also volunteer at a local retirement home for people afflicted with Alzheimer's.
NHS, AP Scholar, etc.

Are there other universities with a better environment for me to get accepted into a good medical school? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!!

The only way to know for sure that you are going to get into UT is to be a Texan and in the top 7 to 8% (changes every year), and you still may not get your choice of major. That being said - I think you have a very good chance of getting in. Another school to consider is Trinity University. It will likely be more expensive than UT (Trinity has generous aid) but will probably provide a better education. I am a UT grad and found the education fine, but discovered the 200 to 300 person class was not for me. You will almost certainly be offered the CAP option to UT.

Thank you for your reply!! This year, it’s top 8%.
And that’s so funny you mentioned TU, i just received a nomination as a TU Select Scholar today! You said that the school will provide a better education, do you happen to know if they have a strong medical program? I know the 9:1 student-faculty ratio is amazing, but i haven’t found much information about my major/other pre-med majors there.
