@Pro1234 Nope, No reply yet.
I originally didn’t receive the AES scholarship, so I asked for a re-review for my AES, and I received the achievement level scholarship!
This is what they said when I sent them the request via email:
"NAME,
I’ve reviewed your record and was able to secure approval to fund the AES Achievement level award for you, so congratulations! The AES offer and level will be processed this week and it will show in the Orion/Galaxy portal on Friday. In the meantime, please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Thanks!"
If you wish for help on the re-review request, then message me via CollegeConfidential.
I talked to them today as well! I’m happy to say that I have received the Honors AES Scholarship!
@Shadowsych that’s exactly what showed up for me as well. Congrats
Also, I wanted to let you guys know to email admissions-status@utdallas.edu because they are the ones who are in control of everything pertaining to the AES. If you have concerns or specific questions, I can help you. Good luck!
I will try to see how things go tomorrow. Shooting them an email! Wish me the best! Thanks for letting us know.
My application status on the portal changed from ‘Accepted’ to ‘Matriculated’. What does this mean?
@rafaisgoat Hi, if you have clicked accept on the page, it changes to “Matriculated” to show that you are enrolling/going to be a student at UT Dallas.
@Shadowsych - congrats. What was your acceptance date?
What email did y’all use because I emailed both admissions-status@utdallas.edu and interest@utdallas.edu but haven’t received an email yet. So please let me know what I should do? @Shadowsych
I was accepted November 11th, for computer science.
@ProRazor I finally got a reply and have been awarded the AES achievement award. I recommend everyone to request a reconsideration because I feel they just rejected people without really evaluating their applications. So even if you have low sat or GPA, email them and explain everything you have in your application such as Ecs, awards, classes, etc. They replied me to the email I sent to interest@utdallas.edu . So, do give it a try for sure!
I emailed them today to admissions-status@utdallas.edu with the help of my AP Seminar teacher. I didn’t mention any of my stats but I expressed sincere excitement to attend their University for CS. I hope I can get something. Thanks for keeping us updated.
I think they just randomly picked some qualified students for AES and weren’t holistic. I believe if a person actually requests for the re-review, then the AES officers will look into your application holistically.
Same thing happened to me, too! I just received an email saying I qualified for the AES Distinction Award!
What were your stats?
I have emailed them requesting to reconsider me as well. I recieved my acceptance on 7th November, 2017, so technically they have not reviewed my application for AES. But as someone previously pointed out, they are giving students scholarships who show genuine interest in the University.
My stats are not quite top tier, but if they are holistic then I will have a good chance due to my extra curricular activities.
ACT 27 (30 if Reading is ignored)
TOEFL 103
GPA 4.3 Weighted (IB Student)
Decent Essays and Letter of Recomendations
Amazing Extra Curricular Activities
I don’t think I can get AES let alone any scholarship due to my weak composite score. But hoping for the best since any amount of scholarship above $1,000 will make me eligible for in-state tuition.
It would be really helpful for people like me if people who got accepted with AES can share their statistics.
@990725 What were your stats?
Btw anyone applied for Terry at UTD?
@Pro1234 Yes, I applied to the Terry Scholars Program.
@Pro1234 My stats weren’t amazing like other people here. But hope this helps!
SAT 1400
2nd in class
GPA 4.46 Unweighted (IB Candidate)
Amazing Recs and Extra Curriculars w/ leadership roles (i think)
