I was wondering what would be an overall better choice, the UVA School of Commerce or UPenn Econ, if i were to be pursuing a career in marketing?

Definitely UPenn Wharton, which is consistently ranked as among the best business schools in the world
@antoniofm Obviously Wharton would be your first choice for that but you obviously know that. As for Penn Econ vs UVa school of commerce, I would still definitely choose penn econ for many reasons. First of al a penn degree is more well regarded the a UVA degree and penn Econ is mo get the best econ programs in the country and world. However most importantly as a penn Econ major you will have the chance to take marketing classes in Wharton and also maybe even do a double degree with wharton or transfer to Wharton. Also Penn is the most targeted ugrad school especially by firms in the business field and so you will have access to much better recruitment opportunities at Penn. also especially given your “unusual” background, I.e the fact that u will be an Econ major going into marketing will give you a leg up and make you stand out. Whatever you decide to study at Penn you will have access to the same classes, resources and recruitment opportunities as all of the other penn students. If you are interested in a career in a business-related field there is no better undergrad place to be than Penn(all of Penn not just Wharton) or Harvard. As you can see on Penn’s website engineering and ecn majors have tremendous success landing these jobs too( of course keep in mind that many eng and Econ majors opt to go to grad school, or work in a non-business related field that is why the numbers are not as high as those of business students at Penn)
by penn econ do you mean a b.a. economics in the college or a b.s. economics in wharton? if wharton obviously wharton, otherwise I’d still say Penn because of the potential to take courses at/transfer into wharton and the strong recruitment from penn. for marketing specifically wharton is the school in penn that offers a marketing concentration though, if you did a b.a. in the college i’m not sure how much marketing exposure you would get.
