she just made a mistake she’s fixing it
just had a heart attack because my defer letter is back up in my portal
i’ve never been more happy to be wrong
mine too omg
Oh yeah I was addressing that to the person I replied to. I was just busting their balls no harm intended
I’m guessing that there are about 2400 who got accepted through Regular Decision.
965 ED
6186 EA
318 Deferred (4 percent of 7932)
Total Offers: 9875
965(ED)+6186(EA)+318(Deferred)= 7469
9875-7469=2406
Obviously there is room for error, but last year it was around 2500.
So they deferred almost 8000 students?
I just added these two up. 781+7185. Let me know if I did something wrong
Early Action Defers
Overall defers: 7,185 (25%)
Total VA defers: 2,098
Total OOS defers: 5,087
Early Decision Defers
Overall defers: 781
Total VA defers: 406
Total OOS defers: 375
Whew! Just got correct numbers in and they are on the blog.
Overall RD offers: 2,628 (2,409 last year)
Total VA RD offers: 890 (20% offer rate)
Total OOS RD offers: 1,738 (15% offer rate)
Thanks so much!!! Is there any change in the deferral offer rate, or is that still 4%?
What time is the decision coming out?
I think people have said that it will come out around 5
Thanks again for this level of transparency and access. Sincerely appreciated.
concerned about low rate of in state acceptances. is this due to college finances the greater out of state, the greater the tuition? in state college students and in state taxes paid should be noted to the university as they make decisions for admission.
4% acceptance on deferrals…ouch
OOS students yield at a lower rate, so you have to admit more of them.
COPY that
4% from deferrals…note to future kids…do NOT apply EA.
A 4% deferral rate doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply EA. It means those kids got a second look at their application when in all likelihood were deferrals not a possibility they would’ve been rejected upon their first read. If you’re looking at whether or not you should apply EA also look at EA acceptances and remember the application type is not the cause of the decision.
Thanks, Dean J!
