UVA was supposed to announce today but I did not see my status on the SIS portal.
@RicFlairDrip There was never a ‘supposed to be announced today’ for U VA. Dean J has been updating threads, tamping down speculation, and letting us know that late January probably means late January – there is no more specificity than we will hear on or prior to the 31st. We’ve all seen past dates but past dates are no guarantee regarding this year. Just sit tight.

@Dean J, thanks for your update and very useful info. With the number of applicants at a record high, would UVA make available more places to admit more students?
@HSLoser I don’t want to speak for Dean J, but I don’t believe that’s how it works. There are literally a specific number of beds available for freshmen. They have to base the number of admitted students on that. And… tons of UVa competitors have had a record number of applicants this year. They are all fighting for us, while we are fighting for them.
I see that mid-year grade report is now showing up in my D’s To Do List within the UVA SIS portal. Is everyone else that is EA seeing that too?

Dean J just tweeted a few minutes ago and she is still reading applications today. Take that for what you will.
FWIW, between the two transfer seasons and the first years, we’re reading files from the beginning of October through the end of May. It doesn’t really stop.

Question: My D’s EA application says her application is “incomplete” because she must submit her mid-year grade report which doesn’t have a due date until 2/14. How does that track with early action decisions coming out any day now? Thanks in advance for your comments!

Does anybody know what time of day decisions have been released in previous years?

Assuming decisions can’t be released on saturday or sunday, probably will be Thursday…but if not , then Friday…If not then almost definitely Monday. Only 11% chance to be released after next monday…
I get that one can attempt to extrapolate from previous years, but how, specifically, did you come up with these numbers?
Or maybe that was a joke.
