I think you’re relying too much on the past. Don’t speak to a counselor, they aren’t very useful. You can just look into the guarantee agreement in the NOVA website that relates to your area of study, and compare it to your transcript which you can get off the myvccs website.
If you get rejected now, you have a year to make up those classes. If you really want to get into UVA, you totally can. But if you expect to get in just based off doing slightly better than you did the first time you applied? Then you might not have the strongest of chances.
The fate of you going to this school is entirely up to you. You can def get in, just work harder to meet all the requirements and take the 100%.
I truly believe what we saw was correct, so this is based on you getting rejected.
@LaVolpe I don’t believe that what we saw was incorrect info. But obviously they don’t want everyone seeing it until the date. So they patched it (albeit not too well). I would assume that what each person saw is their admissions result
@lowrancc Yeah, but there’s more stuff I’ve already found that is odd.
Like I’m signed into the sisuvacs.blahblah website now and I have a link that says “Accept Admission” with the hover text (and underneath that the same) saying “Accept or Decline your offer of admission”.
(clicking it sends me to a page saying decisions aren’t available until the first)
That seems rather odd to me, but I can’t really figure it out yet.
@lowrancc I kinda find that hard to believe, considering that I checked that link right when I received my check and had a rejection message, but Dean J leads us to believe that the check indicates that they are reviewing your application in the third stage. “When you see “View Decision” on your page, it means your file has reached that third stage and we’re reviewing it.” So it’s hard to believe that right when I received that check that they had made a decision if in fact the check indicates that they have sent the materials into the third stage and are reviewing them for final decisions. Trying to stay optimistic.
@gwill819 I mean the obvious implication is just that the view decision does mean it’s been made, but it isn’t going to be released until the First.
Positivity is fine, but where do you think fake information would be coming from? It’s going to a link no one was supposed to be able to see, why would it be inaccurate?
A lack of transparency is rather apparent, though. The process doesn’t seem to go really as Dean J has purported to us.
im so mad I just read all the info about how people saw that they were offered admission or not, and now it won’t work. I wish I was reading this stuff a few days earlier so I could have checked
@LaVolpe They should definitely let you in, just on the fact that you cracked the code. I think I remember you saying that you were doing something with computers, so it would be in their best interest to let you in. I’m sure you’ll do wonderfully things though; don’t let this get you down. Any school you go to will have a major asset on their hands.
