@Edu_rms No unfortunately I got wait listed. I think it has to do with my transcripts didn’t show up until April 1st. I also didn’t submit my financial aid until April 1st.
Do you think they were accurate @Bmj2510
@Edu_rms I’m not sure, I mean there different results and the @“Dean J” fixed the problem imediately. But then again they could still be working on decisions. So we’ll have to see come May 1st.
A late financial aid submission can make or break admissions decision??? Because I submitted my FAFSA on time but turned in my CSS very very late (a month and a half or so after the deadline)
and apparently I got rejected.
So I’m wondering if that truly makes a difference. I don’t see why or how it would though.
@UVAfan23 I believe it is best to have everything in on time, because it gives you a better chance of being accepted. They review thousand of applicants, so it would make sense that they would want everything in on time. Plus a couple of pages ago someone shared stats and a good 30% of those applying never completed the application. Don’t take my word for it though, I am not sure how the process works.
@UVAfan23 financial aid has nothing to do with admissions, read the most recent post in the transfer blog
@indigoiguana Nope, I haven’t. I don’t believe they ask you for it at all unless it’s a special circumstance.
By the way, what school are you applying to?
Still waiting on my check mark.
@UVAfan23 Any decision made was NOT because of FA forms. (Some people don’t apply for FA). Also you definitely didn’t submit the CSS a month and a half late…It’s only been 20 days since they were due.
Hey now, give credit where credit is due. I just wrote an email. I didn’t fix anything!
BTW, the transfer deans don’t access to your financial aid documents. Those are between you and Student Financial Services.
@“Dean J” would it be at all frowned upon if an applicant was found to have used the method discussed earlier in an attempt to view their decision early? I didn’t really think anything of it at first but now that it’s been “fixed” I’ve been wondering.
When I saw the number of pages on this thread jump very quickly and then was told that some students were hammering their SIS accounts, I found myself hoping that school work wasn’t being neglected to click around in SIS. I wouldn’t say “frowned upon” is the right language. I do worry that some didn’t see that we haven’t finished our review yet.
I know the wait is hard, but all of you have coursework that probably needs the energy your spending here. Hang in there! I know the transfer deans are working very hard to wrap this process up by the end of the month.
I agree with Dean J. We’re all too worried about this. We can’t do anything but wait and should be focusing on our studies until the results are released in the proper manner. I do worry that some people saw a message that may not have been accurate (because the reviews have not been completed) and have become extremely upset. This misplaced resentment could have a detrimental effect on one’s academic performance.
You just basically said the exact same thing dean j said lmao
I feel like it was very dishonorable not only to the admission committee but also to the University itself. I know that it is very nerve racking to wait for two months but the feeling is not going to be the same when you get your decision on the released date. Eleven more days. So it would be nice if no one tries to get their decisions before the release date just for everyone else’s sake! (:
Talking about school, if anyone needs help studying or getting ready for finals let me know! (:
@Edu_rms What can you help us in?
@LookingForUVA What do you need help in? I have taken a majority of the subjects required for three associate degrees I will have completed by this summer. Even if it is not a course I have taken I can still skim through topics about it to help out! Haha(: I have been tutoring people trying to get their masters and I am only nineteen so basically anything you need help with just shoot me a message and I will be more than happy to help!
@Edu_rms I don’t suspect anyone will find a better feeling in getting rejected today than on release date.
I certainly won’t.
@“Dean J” To be fair, finding that link was literally, and I do mean literally, two clicks and some deductive reasoning.
I would find it more “frowned upon” that it’s nigh abundantly clear that the check mark really means your decision is ready but won’t be revealed
