@Edu_rms In what way is it disrespectful? How would it ruin the feeling? Some students have to confirm their decision with other schools by May 1 and knowing their admission decision to UVA before then would be hugely beneficial.
@SeabornSam I believe their decision was an acceptance, so it’s very easy to be happy and critical after being accepted to your school of choice.
Wouldn’t really hold it against anyone though. I can see, in theory, why it might be somewhat frowned upon or whatever wording.
Ahhh I am too late. Wish I had gone and check this thread more often I appreciate you so much for breaking through and finding this loop hole even if I missed it @LaVolpe (If I recall correctly from pages ago lol I skim through everything excitedly trying the link). (WAY TO GO!!
@SeabornSam I agree. It would be hugely beneficial for some students. Like in my case for example, I only applied to two schools (Tech and UVA) as these two are the only ones I can see myself studying at. My first choice is UVA but my stats are not that great plus no EC besides working. Knowing whether or not I am accepted would benefit me so much. I had heard back from VT. I got accepted but as an out of state student. I had reached out to them and asked to be considered as an in state student because I cannot afford the out of state cost (parents moved to neighboring state of MD but I’ve been living in VA for 10 years and even considered as an in state student by my community college- NOVA- and UVA). I’ve reached out many different times in different forms (calling diff offices of VT and emailing the correct email address as advised in one of the call). So my last option is to go down to Blacksburg and ask in person to be taken seriously. It is a five hours drive and I honestly do not want to make the trip unless I do not get into UVA. Don’t get me wrong, I love Tech too but UVA is my first choice after all. So knowing whether or not I would get in (even if its just a small hint) would tremendously help me. I’m currently stressing between schoolwork, UVA, Tech’s student residency status, my job (I’m getting promoted WOOT! haha), and finding potential place to move into in the fall. So getting a little relieve for my mind is greatly appreciated.
@shiica95 I wouldn’t say it was of much benefit, I didn’t get in and only a few even got to check.
Probably should’be just kept it to myself so I could use it to check my status in the spring, but oh well.
@LaVolpe We can’t be completely sure that those decisions were even accurate. From the the result pages the text seemed to be encrypted as seen from the random code spliced into the letters (although I may be wrong as I’m not as handy with computers as you are). At least we only have to wait one more week. And if it ends up that you actually didn’t get in, W&M has an amazing reputation and prestige. Graduate schools and employers are often aware of the grade deflation there so I don’t see how you couldn’t be successful.
Anyway, let’s all just hope for the best and focus on upcoming finals. If any of you are still feeling anxious, I find that coffee or some kind of hot beverage usually calms the nerves. Also, like I mentioned before: apple fritters, nuff’ said.
@SamoyedScience Well, I’d much rather not attend in the Fall at all (W&M sucks)
Anyway, that “code” in the text was just the fonts and italics and stuff.
So i’ve been lurking on this thread for a while but i figured i may as well jump in. I have pretty good stats and all but also I still have the green circle instead of a checkmark. Just to give some background
@Calibr8 Ditto! Ive had nothing on my to do list for at least a month now! Still have the green bubble.
Chance me? Applying as a second year, in-state student to Arts&Science.

Okay so what are the odds these decisions get released a few days early because I have to let university of texas know by may 1 if I’m going there or not soo…
@collegeman8 I think your a very solid applicant based on your stats
@bdhyea97 same. Very nervous
Been reading through all the comments and I must say I’m currently finding it very difficult to focus on any school work. Gah! Also @UVAfan23 we have eerily similar stats. Slight difference in high school GPA but same high school graduation year, years at cc, etc. Good luck everyone!
@judestfrancis090 were you also born in 1990 and 26? Haha. I feel like I’m the oldest here, although I know many non-traditional applicants who are well above 35 who are applying to UVA, which isn’t a bad thing at all. What CC are you at?
@UVAfan23 I’m at pvcc. And yes, I was! but I won’t be 26 for a few more months.
@judestfrancis090 oh okay! Yay 90’s babies haha. PVCC? Isn’t that like near UVA? Lol. I have a friend who attend PVCC. I bet UVA gets lots of you guys applying. Why did u take time off? And what are you stats? U can message me if u want and don’t wanna share info on the thread
@zct0018 Its so close to decisions I just feel like its weird I don’t have a check yet! Ahh!
@bdhyea97 I got mine on the 27th last year.
Don’t worry colleges like to take their sweet time :))
