UVA Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

Guys, try something out for me. From SIS, on the left hand column under ‘Help,’ click University ID Lookup. Enter your info. Does it give you an ID or not?

@TerrierNation I have one. Why?

Would they create university IDs for rejects? I don’t think so… But to prove my hypothesis, we need to find someone who doesn’t get an ID.

@TerrierNation
I’m pretty sure we all randomly get one generated with our application regardless of decision, just comes w/ your SIS when it is made. Plus, we all get decisions the same day and I doubt there’s anything we can do to decipher our decision beforehand. UVA is pretty cool about not being so vague and mysterious

Ah, in that case, I’m sorry for being impatient!

Haha I feel you man. 3 more weeks.

where do you find your SIS ID number?

should be in your email when you got the link to login

SIS generates an ID for every record created.

Mythbusters: UVA Edition

@TerrierNation it does retrieve an ID number for me. Does it for you?

Edited: Thanks, @“Dean J” that makes sense - probably a good alternative to having SSNs tied to each application.

@TerrierNation I didn’t get an ID. I think I’m rejected?

@darkhound173 Are you serious? What’s it say when you try to get an ID?

@darkhound173 deanJ literally just said it auto populates… if you don’t have one that’s a technical issue

@TerrierNation I just tried it and yep

@“Dean J” I have a sort of dumb question… I have always been interested in UVA, but I didn’t realize until after the application how much I really want to go to UVA. Of course, I put effort into my essays, but I feel that I didn’t sound determined enough to choose UVA over any other school. Is there any way for me to show my commitment? I also don’t want to spam the admissions e-mail, because I already sent them a couple of additions to my application.

Edit: I moved here from Germany, so I didn’t know too much about U.S. Universities.

Nevermind! I see it now. Sorry about that. I was looking at the wrong thing.

@Vincent1997 UVA doesn’t track interest. They’d be judging you solely on how strong of an applicant you are, and focusing heavily on course selection and performance. You have just as much of a chance as any of us! Just let the admissions office do their thang at this point, unless you have something you really need to add to your file or you have a question. Scour the website and blog first, but they’re here to help!

17 days until the earliest possible day for decisions (last Friday of April). But who’s counting?

17 days… it seems like it’s been an eternity haha so close yet so far

For comparison, the Winter Olympics were 17 days long. We’re one Winter Olympics away, people!
