@msport I found three examples of people who didn’t and they got accepted. So again, like I said before, it seems to only be a true positive test, not false positive. Don’t lose hope, my dude.
Yeah, I think you are right from 2016 thread out of 4 people who had those fin aid things 4 got accepted. So you should be ok, but good luck anyway!
They requested some FA stuff from me about 3 weeks ago and I believe that’s when it changed. Didn’t mean to freak anyone out, just curious as to any changes anyone else may have.
Regardless, it’s obviously not our decision. We’ll all know by Friday (hopefully) if not Monday.
Everyone just chill out! You worked way to hard with your application to get depressed about a decision you haven’t received yet. Good Luck ALL!
^^
hey all i’m stressing more and more the closer we get but does anyone know if a huge increase in grades is important to them? My HS gpa was so-so nothing special but my first semester college grades were good and my midterm report was straight As. I also had two good rec letters and strong essays. I feel like i’m getting my hopes up but does anyone know of any crazy acceptance stories!?
@umd1618 I was told that for transferring colleges your college GPA matters most not so much your HS GPA or the trend
@umd1618 @acceptancewoohoo UVA treats GPA a little differently. Obviously your GPA matters, but only in the sense that they want to see you do well in your college courses. You could have a bunch of A’s and a couple of B’s, and have a lower GPA than someone who also has a bunch of A’s and a couple of B’s depending on how many credits you have. UVA has said time and again that they care most about you taking the right transferable courses that meet their requirements.
@NOVAtransfer @acceptancewoohoo thank you guys for your notes!
@NOVAtransfer thats what I was wondering because my school also has no pluses and minuses in their grade system so for example, an 88% i have that could be a 3.4 or something is only a 3.0 and I was wondering if they noted that too and took it into consideration.
Transfermer just said on the admissions blog they’re still reading apps.
Lol if they’re still reading, we might be the unlucky year that doesn’t see decisions until May 1
would you mind pasting the link to the admissions blog you’re talking about? lol I’m a little late on the bandwagon here
It seems that most schools finish it last minute. I wouldn’t count Friday out quite yet.
@uva20hopefully http://uvatransferadmission.blogspot.com/2018/03/financial-aid-deadline-april-1.html?m=1 the part about apps still being read is in the comments
I doubt they are reading application to the very last minute. They’re probably finalizing border-line apps
My grades have been an upward trend since high school but i am freaked out…is one c going to kill any chance at a potential acceptance/waitlist if my essays were really strong and fully explained that grade?!
My midterm grades were even higher than first semester so I pray that that could potentially make up for that bad grade.
I also really hate only looking at GPA as opposed to grades since some schools have the +/- range and others don’t, which can definitely be beneficial if you’re not doing well, but a case like mine, it hurts!
Sorry for rambling! Anything to calm these nerves would be greatly appreciated.
Ahh I wish the best of luck to everyone. (I wish I could be this positive with myself right now haha)
@umd1618 don’t fret! There’s a bunch of other factors in play. One C is not the end of it. Just relax We will know in just a couple of days. No worries!
@umd1618 My school doesn’t have “B pluses or minuses” either. It kinda sucks because I’m in a situation where I could end with an 88% in two classes but that would be counted as 3.0. In my situation my second semester is looking to be lower than my first semester. First semester I ended with a 4.0 with 17 credits (proper transferable) and the same with this semester but if I end with an 88% or 89% in Physics and Calc II then that will bring my second semester GPA down to a 3.5 which is a huge drop. Considering I get accepted, It’s freaking me out because I don’t know if UVA would rescind my acceptance based on this.
Man I can’t believe decisions are so close now. I’ll be pooping bricks the day after tomorrow during the whole day.
