@uvact123 I highly doubt that they will accept an e-mailed copy. Doesn’t your college send transcripts directly? I can request transcripts by simply going onto my student portal (community college).
Anyone have an idea as to when UVA decisions come out for fall transfers? Also, I will have complete all of the transfer course requirements for the college of engineering except python, will this affect my admission decision? Thanks

@gohoos admissions has said they expect 2nd year transfers to have half the requirements done, and 3rd year transfers to have all (or most) of the requirements done. It might impact your admission but if you have all but one requirement done, I wouldn’t sweat it. They’ve said most transfers are missing something from the list.
As far as decisions go: May 1 is the official release date but we’ve typically seen them release decisions the Friday before May 1 (to give everyone some time between decisions and the flood of calls and emails, I presume). This year, that date would be April 27. After that, we have until May 15 to give them a yes or no and pay the deposit.
@NOVAtransfer thanks!
Just seeing this! Your college registrar should send the official transcript directly to UVA. A copy issued to a student isn’t considered official.
and what about if my CC has digital transcripts? Would they send it to you guys via email?
@uvact123 I am not sure what you mean. The important thing is that your school sends it to the University and not you, because you could theoretically forge it. It doesn’t matter if your school sends it electronically, or by mail.
Yes that’s what I meant. Thank you for the clarification
I’m curious about digital transcripts being sent because some of my classes will finish their grading period about 1 month before UVA decisions come out. I really want UVA to see my spring semester too along with my fall. I was assuming that digital transcripts could be sent via email and that it would reach quickly and in time for review…
@uvact123 It doesn’t hurt to try. I think it takes UVa about a week to process the transcript (if electronically), however, I think they make their decisions a little bit before announcing the decision. I’d just send it asap and hope that they consider it.
Just researched my CC’s website. You are right. The transcript is sent in a matter of days and it takes about 5-7 days for UVA to process my transcript.
Also, how can I retrieve my HS transcript? I moved from my high school like 70 miles away.
There you go good luck!
So I found this: https://www.commerce.virginia.edu/undergrad/application-process-transfer
Is the transfer SAT score average really that low? 1220 seems really low. Isn’t Wharton etc… like 1500?
@uvact123, I assume you carry a phone around in your pocket that you can use to contact your high school.
We went paperless in 2008. We actually prefer digital submission of transcripts. Your college registrar will send the transcript in whatever manner works best for them.
@“Dean J” hey, do you know if people can test out of the language requirement for McIntire? My Cc had me take a test from BYU.
Not Dean J but yes there is a placement test that could place you out of the requirement. Go on the website I believe you can place out if you got a 5 on the AP exam or if you took a foreign language SAT subject test. You don’t have to have the foreign language requirement completed when applying to Mcintire but it would have to be completed before you start in Sept. I don’t know if another schools placement test would count
@Collegehelp4us I appreciate the answer. I’ve read that some schools waive the foreign language requirement, if you are international. I am a dual-citizen and grew up in Germany. Do you think that would count? I only have that BYU Exam, because my CC said that’s all I would need.
Wow that’s really unheard of. 1220 average SAT for accepted external Mcintire applicants. Any idea what the average SAT might be for transfer sophomore applicants?
My SAT is only 1290, so I am very happy to see such a low average. I can’t say that I am not surprised though. It would seem that UVa would have an average of 1400… especially for the business school.
@Vincent1997 good question, give the college of arts and sciences a call or e-mail them.
