please please help me choose!!!
Which school has a better reputation?
Which school has a better ECON related program?
I really need help here! Thanx a loooot!

This should be in NYU's or UVA's area

[The suggestion above is correct; the post was moved by moderator action to the correct forum from elsewhere.]

The environments of the schools are near-polar opposites. That should weigh more heavily than any difference in academic quality (which would be negligible)

UVa's graduation rate is a lot higher and they have a lot more full-time faculty. I'd go with UVa.

I'd second UVA.

NYU is ranked higher, access to Wall St internships and NYC.

Tough choice. Although NYU has a stronger Econ department, UVa is a more complete university and has a much more cohesive campus environment. Personally, I would chose UVa over NYU in a NY minute!

The OP apparently wants strength of programme based on his opening post, and on this basis the OP might be inclined to take NYU.

But I should issue a caveat to the OP: you might think your campus environment is irrelevant, but the other factors might be very considerable in the future. Consider also that unless you're 100% dead-set certain you're going to major in economics (as opposed to say, having an economics-related concentration in a cross-disciplinary dual major), it is very probable that you might suddenly change your mind on what you want to major in. And if that should happen, would NYU be good as UVA for those disciplines too? ;)

Since UVA and NYU are comparable in standards anyway, opting for the more well-rounded school is a safer bet IMO.
