UVA Regular Decision Class of 2018

OMG! OMG! Accepted with 26 act!! I went in with full expectations of rejection! all the way from Mississippi!

My D accepted into Nursing - OOS after being deferred !!! Wa-Hoo-Wa!!! I know who I’m rooting for in tonight’s BB game!

My D got accepted to School of Nursing ! !

UVa seems to waitlist a lot of OOS people with very good stats.

Well the acceptance rate is a lot lower OOS than instate because it’s a state school.

Rejected, but was a reach anyway. OOS, 2010 SAT, 3.8 UW, Good EC’s, Okay essays.

Congrats to all who were accepted! I got in EA.

Daughter. OOS. Wait listed after being deferred. 2080 SAT. Great extra curricular. 3 sport varsity lots of volunteer will wait on list.

Accepted instate…

Good luck everyone else!

Son was wait listed. Instate, 4.43 W, 3.96 UW, 9 honors/AP classes. Ranked in top 3% of class. 29 ACT.
3 sport athlete with All State honors.NHS. Many other extracurricular activities. Decent amount of community service. IMO, essays were strong. ACT probably to blame. Congrats to all accepted and to those who were either denied or waitlisted, best of luck to each of you.

Waitlisted >_> And this is after being deferred EA, so the decision I was supposed to get by the end of January won’t becoming until at least May

Son not selected.

Honestly don’t know his regular gpa (mostly focused on UC’s with a UC gpa) weighted it would be about 4.1 but it is substantially lower unweighted (he took a ton of APs). Out of state. SAT 2230.

Best of luck to those who were admitted!

Waitlisted - OOS - ACT 35, top 2% rank, etc. They getting like WUSTL with the mega wait lists. :((

Waitlisted- OOS. Screw UVA lol. It’s the struggle of being OOS. I probably wouldn’t have gone anyway. The $40k+ sticker price would have been too much. With that said, congrats to everyone who got in!

whatever, at least I’m in good company on this waitlist!
2300+ ftw!

If I have to be honest, I think my short essay on quirks got me in. I wrote about how sometimes it’s less about science and more about faith, while relating it to this helium balloon I have from the day I was born that is still blown up to this day. It was one of the few essays in my college application process that I actually had fun with, mostly because UVa was one of the last applications I did.

Wow, this was such a shock to me. Rejected from Stanford REA, as well as WashU. Only gotten into safety school (UT), but that’s easy in Texas because you only need to be top 7% of your class. I even got denied from Plan 2 and Health Science Honors at UT. Even if UVa isn’t my top pick as far as universities go, this just gave me a heck of a lot more faith in myself and my hard work over these four years. I will definitely reconsider UVa and visit it before I make my final decision. Still waiting on UC Berkeley, Rice, Emory, and Cornell, with Berkeley being my top choice.

To all of y’all who weren’t accepted: You are going to get accepted somewhere great, I promise. Almost everyone on this feed seems so much more successful than me, and it’s crazy to think that I was the one who was actually admitted. Just know that college admissions decisions are weird, and please please please don’t take them personally. There is so much left up to chance. Best of luck to you all!

Random Side Note: I never received the email about decisions being posted today. I just happened to scroll through this feed on college confidential and realized that they were up.

I got accepted but never recived an email did any other acceptances get an email?
