UW Autumn 2018 Transfer Discussion (University of Washington)

@dallycpoz Same. UW seems like the slowest to give out transfer decisions.

I’m reapplying to UW when I’m ready for graduate school. I’m not sure when they get back on decisions for graduate students but it better be faster than what it is for transfer students.

same @julietjuju3 i think thats a good idea

Yes, UW takes awhile but if you have applied to other schools and have been accepted, just go through with their process and ask if any payments may be refunded if you withdraw by certain date if you do get accepted to UW. For example, I was accepted to SPU and the new student fee was non-refundable. But the housing fee was if withdrew by July 16. You can start to “soft” plan for UW. Such as start looking for places to live and create an approximate budget for housing, dining, transportation, etc. It’s better to start coming up with ideas now so that you are more prepared when your decision comes in case you become stuck in a time crunch. I still wish everyone luck and will continue to update with the transfer process. I am still waiting on my student ID and for my portal to update. Unfortunately, you really can’t do anything until you receive your SID.

Just got my financial aid. Lots of loans… lol. I am still waiting to hear back from Seattle tho :expressionless:

@julietjuju3 from what I’ve heard and noticed the graduate programs at UW are a lot less capacity constrained! If I don’t get in there for undergrad it is still one of my top choices for law school/grad school.

I know notifications come out randomly, but does anyone know from past forums when the majority of pre-sciences majors are notified?

I’m not 100% sure but I’ve been hearing that we won’t get anything until June, maybe late June?

Hi everyone! I am a transfer student from a CC in Washington. I applied for Autumn term 2018. My intended major is mathematics or aeronautics. I am currently awaiting a decision from admissions and just wanted to post on this forum to stay updated and potentially update as well. I am checking myUW transfer application at least 5 times a day and would love to hear from others on when/if they receive an acceptance or denial notification.

My application status just became available on myUW about a week ago. Does anyone know about how long it takes once your application status becomes available to view?

@cercit20 me too…I got no aid, just loans:( Which I knew was a possibility as an out of state student it just really sucks bc now I can’t go

@TylenolPM by application status do you mean the box on my.uw?

@TylenolPM they are sending decisions out randomly. some people have been accepted and some haven’t heard yet

Will accepting enrollment to UW Bothell impact my decision to UW Seattle? I want to secure my spot to UW Bothell in case I don’t get into UW Seattle. I know the ECD in non-refundable, I don’t really care about that part, but I’m scared because it seems like if I accept UW Bothell, UW Seattle will automatically reject me!

@transferuw from what I understand it will not effect UW Seattle’s decision. They are separate applications for a reason because they are basically separate schools. Same school separate entities. I would call and ask for extra reassurance though.

For those of you that got into UW Tacoma did they mail you your acceptance letter? I just checked and my unofficial transcript loaded but my application status said something like all decisions are sent in the mail.

@ILoveSchool2 Yea, they sent out a letter and an email. After a few days, they updated the online portal.

I GOT INTO UW TACOMA!!! I know it’s not as prestigious as the Seattle campus but I’m still really happy about it!

June’s finally here. Let’s hope we all get our decisions this month.

I am so tired of waiting that I even forgot to check the portal for 4 days.

Hi guys!

I just saw my unofficial got updated. It says Pre Science. The status page hasn’t changed yet. I applied to CS. When i called them, they said nothing has been made on my application even tho I can confirm my enrollment already.
