I believe all decisions are sent out during business days.
As for the notification period, it is May to July. They say it is random, but based on this thread and previous, business and other similar majors hear back early, and engineering and other similar majors hear back later. All the rest are in June. I only heard back “early” because of my circumstances that I had to explain to them
I’ve emailed and called and I still havent received my student ID yet, which is making me anxious because I need to apply for housing ASAP
alkdjg;alkdgja really wish I knew if I was going to UW or not right now lol
@golddawgs hasn’t your unofficial transcript loaded yet? you should be able to see your student ID on your unofficial transcript.
@RichL0828 no… i think i’m just going to stop posting about it here because i received my admission decision under different circumstances. i know my portal will load in a few days and i’ll receive my student id too. but i have been accepted. i received an immediate email after contacting admissions about my circumstances
@golddawgs What were you circumstances?
As I explained earlier in this thread, I am a homeless student attending another community college. I asked them to review my application a little sooner so that I can start making preparations for the “gaps” of when I am going to be homeless (between my summer quarter at my cc ending and the fall quarter of spu/uw beginning).
I didn’t really talk about it on here because I didn’t want someone to get the wrong idea (now or in the future) that doing that will you get you in or get you your decision sooner. They only knew I was being honest because I told them it was on my FAFSA and I have other proof, which they then looked over.
So, I received my decision pretty quick but because of how quick it was, I don’t believe it has even been updated in the system. I was going to call again today to see if I could get ahold of someone. I haven’t received a phone call or email back after leaving messages regarding my student ID and the portal.
well, I am happy for you! and I’m glad you got your decision so you can start planning!
Would any of you want to hear about the meeting I had with a Foster advisor after not getting accepted? I asked a bunch of questions but a lot of the information may sound repetitive and specific to me.
@ILoveSchool2 I would love to hear any new information the advisor provided. If you don’t mind me asking, did you get into UW? And will you be attending as a Pre-major if you did?
@transfer3018 I am still waiting to hear about getting into UW (Both Seattle & Tacoma). I applied with Business as my first choice political science as my second choice. So because I didn’t get into Foster right away I am assuming I will be a pre-major. I asked again if not getting into Foster had anything to do with not getting into UW and the answer was no because they have separate application processes.
As far as what the advisor said I basically asked why I didn’t get into Foster and I was told it was mostly because of my GPA. I told them that I got a 4.0 in the semester in which I applied and they nicely calculated how that would effect my combined GPA and my pre-application GPA if I were to apply again next quarter. So basically I was still below the average of those admitted. Those admitted had a combined GPA average of 3.76 and a pre-application GPA of 3.85. Mine were a little bit below that (even with the 4.0) but my WSA score was above average. I had a feeling my GPA was going to be a problem and I explained in my personal statement for Foster why it was low. I was also told a lot of students who do not get into the business school end up studying different majors such as Economics. I think there is a lot more weight on GPA than people let on.
@ILoveSchool2 I was thinking of doing Econ too if I don’t get in. Maybe combine it with a double major in Math or stats.
Wow. I didn’t realize the GPA was so high. I have a 3.84 overall GPA. I haven’t taken a lot of Pre-Application courses but I have A’s so far. Only thing is I have a B in Micro econ and an A in Macro econ. But an advisor told me that they only consider the highest grade among the Micro and Macro courses for admissions purposes. So I think I’m a bit relieved by that
I only applied for Pre-Business because I haven’t finished my Accounting courses yet. Good luck for UW!
Also, how did you find out your WSA score?
What schools/colleges have we not heard from yet, and when do we expect to hear?
Hi everyone! I’m thinking of applying to transfer during the winter quarter. Did anyone on here apply from a four-year school, or is everyone from CCs? Thanks!
@transfer3018 with that GPA you should be totally fine! Look into Econ as a backup would be my only piece of advice. That’s what I am doing because the application dates for economics are different from that of Foster so it kind of works out for those we want to apply to econ and Foster. You find out your WSA when you get your decision letter from Foster.
@CollegeIsHardxx I applied to transfer from a 4 year school
@topcheddercheese a lot of people are still waiting on UW’s decision because the notification period is June/July.
Reminder to everyone: although your stats, scores, and gpa do matter, they do not define you. colleges, including uw, look for more than you just being a 4.0 student. they want to see your life outside of school
i think im giving up on UW, this is not enough time to plan out what I need and i havent heard anything
