Well… I got denied today. Just after my second choice told me my time to accept my admission has ended. Best of luck to everyone else, I hope you don’t get screwed too! Lol

for any CS/CSE majors directly admitted to the department as a transfer, my advisor said they accepted roughly 50 students out of 400 or so applicants.
Anyone received financial aid packages? I submitted 2 forms, but haven’t heard back.
I have a question about the transfer admission.
A few days ago I received an email informing me that CSE department cannot offer my admission; but when I check my UW id, it says that they will inform when a decision is made.
In my second major, I chose mathematics and ticked on this option:
|*| In addition to this UW application, I am or will be submitting a separate departmental application for the quarter I selected in question C–1 above.
Does it mean I still have the chance of getting into mathematics? And What if I didn’t will I transfer into as pre-major?
Are any of you still waiting to hear back?

Including the mathematics? I am not sure how it works, cause the UW Id still says they will inform when a decision is made.
@iluvjava if you check your unofficial transcript you can see your assigned major if you were admitted. What does it say?
Has anyone heard of someone getting into UW without getting into their major?

Oh, I am also an international transfer. It seems like I am already rejected by the CSE department, but the decision from UW is still not out yet.
Seems like I have to contact cse to seem how the second choice of major is working.
@Iluvjava contact office of admissions about general admission. if cse sent you a decision letter than you may have to wait to apply again (risky from what i’ve heard…). It is possible they may admit you as pre-sciences later this month or in august…
I was rejected today. I woke up to an email telling me that they’re unable to offer me a spot. I just graduated with my AA and I even received a scholarship to attend UW so I’m kind of in shock that I was rejected.
I had a 3.4 GPA when I applied but now I have a 3.8 so I’m going to try and appeal. I suppose worst case scenario is that my appeal is denied and I’d have to apply for admission to winter quarter.
@randomname52 dont’t give up! Persistence will pay off. In the meantime, you can always get classes out of the way at cc in autumn. (I was rejected in Spring and got in for Autumn after posting some 4.0s in key classes at cc)
