I don’t know what happened but apparently, there is no departmental application for the school of engineering in file, and I wasn’t even going to be considered for admission. I don’t recall but did I have to separately apply to the schools of my intended majors? I completed an application for UW, checked the two majors I wanted to pursue, and I submitted it when it was complete. Now, I’ll have to contact the admissions office to see if they will admit me as a general student, but I am really confused. What happened to my application?

I guess you miss the second application for the college of engineering: https://www.engr.washington.edu/uapp/

To see whether UW admitted you or not, you can check your major in the myUW’s profile.
In my experience, the process is like that:

  1. Apply to UW transfer application
  2. Admitted by UW as a pre-major student (I received a letter instead of an email)
  3. Apply to the college of engineering application (if your major is engineering)
  4. Admitted by the college of engineering
    So I guess they already admitted you as a pre-major student at least.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am an international student. I totally forgot to apply to separate departments in addition to the transfer application. Was the direction clear cut? This is very foolish of me as I applied to UW prior to this quarter and was accepted before. I was reminded of writing supplement essays for each intended major but that only came to light this morning.

I spoke with someone at the admissions and was told that the decision will be released tomorrow. I don’t know if in fact I will get an email about it, but what a bummer it is to find out this late.

Hi all, sorry but I am not sure if I should ask in this thread or not.

For transfer applicant to UW Seattle for fall 2019, anyone has an idea when will they usually send out acceptance decisions? The reason I ask is that if some other schools I applied for has accepted me early and require me to confirm acceptance of the offer before UW Seattle’s decision is out, what should I do?

I am scared that if I don’t confirm acceptance from other school and got rejected by my top choice UW Seattle…

@ebsclsgs between May-August. Some can hear back in late April but it’s rare. With UW being so late on notification decisions for transfers you’ll have to confirm with other school’s as a backup, unfortunately.
