UW Autumn 2018 Transfer Discussion (University of Washington)

Oops I sent my updated transcripts a few days ago… I hope that doesn’t hinder my chances for anything. I mainly sent them because that was my final quarter & I have 93 credits now… I just haven’t graduated yet but will be in June.

@golddawgs Thank you so much for the update. I spoke to someone yesterday about decisions too. They said May-July. I guess it’s confirmed then. Still far away but better than before.

Does residency matter for the admissions decision? I study in WA cc but I will only get in-state residency status in July(1 year since I moved). Currently, I am a non-resident

Is the address you listed on your application out of state or in state? @transfer3018

@julietjuju3 In state

they say they give priority to in state cc students. but really i have seen a lot of qualified applicants from my college get rejected… depending on your major it can go either way lol.

You should be fine then. @transfer3018 Like @cercit20 said they give priority to in-state students. I feel like I’m qualified enough, I don’t know anyone from Pierce College applying to UW Seattle, so I hope that ratio of applicants applying from there isn’t bad.

Although they do give priority to in-state applicants, it also depends on how competitive your major is.

To anyone who goes to bellevue college: I spoke with someone from academic advising and they told me that apparently, UW told him that students would be notified prior to April 27th. He said it’s not 100% for sure but man that’s pretty soon! hopefully that’s true

@akoopa44 That’s amazing. I hope that’s true. I go to BC as well

I registered for a transfer webinar and UW sent me an email about that. I almost had a heart attack because I thought it was about my application. lmao

@akoopa44 Is it just students that go to BC that will be notified? Or just that you spoke to someone at BC?

reading this thread gives me a heart attack, i literally check my application status every hour

Has anyone received acceptance form UW Tacoma yet?

@linnearrr Yep, I was accepted in February

@octoberblues were you admitted for Spring or Fall 2018?

Fall 2018. I heard back from them after about 6 weeks.

I see, that great info. Were you a DTA applicant?

Yes, I was!

@akoopa44 Was that person you spoke with did they say that the decisions could possibly come prior to April 27th for summer quarter or fall quarter?

^ I would assume summer, considering fall quarter is the most popular/ common quarter to transfer for ANY university, including UW. Applicants for summer also applied in February, so considering summer is a shorter and uncommon time to transfer, it would make sense that the hear back sooner. It sounds a bit too good to be true for A L L fall applicants to hear back before the end of the month. That’s only about three months to review thousands of applications… Very unrealistic but I would love to hear back this month lol. But the admission’s counselor I spoke with said they could POSSIBLY begin SENDING out decisions this month, not that they would be complete in April. Again, that would be craaazzzyy (yet super super awesome).
