I just got an email saying that I wont get any need-based aid from UW. My parents have an ongoing lawsuit and don’t have enough money to help me through college. What do I do? Here’s the email BTW:
“Evaluation of your 2015-16 FAFSA has indicated that your calculated family contribution will meet your cost of attendance and you are eligible only for non-need based aid. You will be considered for Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan. Parents of undergraduate dependent students may be able to borrow the Parent Loan (PLUS). Graduate students may be able to borrow the Federal Graduate PLUS Loan (GPLUS). We will send you an email notification instructing you to view your award (offer of assistance) on your MyUW. If the award includes only the unsubsidized Stafford Loan, and you are interested in the PLUS or GPLUS loan, please contact us to request that loan to be added to your award. Response to requests for information regarding citizenship, selective service, high school diploma, social security number, etc. is still required. However, you may disregard any requests for income or asset information that may have been sent to you inadvertently. Thank you.”
