I'm stuck between the two colleges. I'm in-state for UW so it definitely will cost less and I'd be part of the honors program, so class size wouldn't be a big issue. I'm and incoming engineering major, so would UW honors be useless in pursuing engineering?

And then USC which has a better ranked engineering program and connections. Plus the campus atmosphere is better, in my opinion. Which would be the better long-term option??

If I were you I would probably go to USC just because it has a better undergrad engineering program. Do you know how much more it would cost to go to USC?

If money isn’t a huge issue, I’d definitely choose USC.

I am able to afford both colleges. I was just wondering if it’s a wise decision to go to USC over UW for engineering… in terms of prestige, job placement, and overall education. Thanks!

Which engineering program are you specifically looking at? If you have an idea now (Leaning towards CSE? EE? ME? CE? etc) then you can take a look at the internship opportunities near the area, what types of companies come to job fairs, etc.

What speedsolver said. The quality of a specific major is arguably a more important criterion than the quality of a program as a whole. For example, if you’re thinking about doing Bioe or CS, then UW is a stronger contender than USC.
