UW-Madison, Georgia Tech, and U of I

I want to do electrical engineering. I live in Illinois.
My first choice was University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign. Unfortunately I didn't get into its engineering college but was offered general studies (undecided). This just pi$$ed me off. So, I'm now seriously considering UW-Madison and Georgia Tech. Can you guys give me some info about campus life and education there?

Goto Illinois, succeed in inter-collegiate transfer, and save some money.

GT--campus life negative. UW campus life awesome.

UW -Madison gets my vote. I can honestly tell you I have not been to GT, but have been to Madison many times. Also, if you decide to change majors, you have a ton of options. Great academics, great sports, great social atmosphere.

Agreed, go to U-Wisconsin. Best undergraduate experience of the three.

IS at U Illinois is about $8500 while OOS at U Wisconsin is about $21k. Not huge, but not inconsequential.

U Wisconsin is going to have the best campus life of the three, but U Illinois ain't so bad either. GT can be fun, but its male/female ratio (68/32) is less than ideal and would be the social laggard of this group.

Weather differences are obvious and real.

Postgraduate placement options should also be considered as all will place best in their home regions. Where do you want to be after college?
