Also heard UW will be accepting more out of state kids who can pay full tuition this year to raise more money is that the case?
Your parents being a Wisconsin alum wouldn’t even be a hook, let alone your uncle. I would not submit his rec letter. His relation to you could hurt you in the admissions process as the adcom doesn’t have a way to determine if it’s family bias or not. Stick with the teacher and counselor recs, they only want two anyway.
Your GPA is on the lower end of what they typically accept, as is your ACT score. So, I’d say the chances for your acceptance are a little lower than 50/50. You definitely have a shot, though.
@Badgers21 his is my 3rd letter and hes not related to me it is my moms, sisters brother in law, more of just a close family friend and i also submitted a teacher letter as well as a guidance counselor
@Badgers21 also, I doubt it helps that much but with my 2 best ACTs I have a 30 superscore, so I sent them both hoping that it would show my abilities
@hockeyplayer11, UW-Madison does not superscore. They take the best test score you send them. Again, they only require two rec letters, so drop the alumni letter and stick to the other two.
