@shawksfan I was told that UW will base admissions as a yes pretty much automatically if Foster accepts you, but it it is not an automatic no into regular UW if Foster does not accept you. If you meet the regular UW requirements and are competitive it should not matter that you were not admitted into business school.
@Guhlio : thank you for your reply, hopefully it will happen.
@Guhlio Congrats! Sounds like you had a few problems. The errors don’t mean anything, but if your admission status or unofficial transcript loads instead of the error then it means you have been admitted.
Does anyone have an issue with admissions from semester schools? Ive been admitted to some and the term starts in August. I have no idea how long I should wait for UW. I definitely can’t wait until mid-july. Anyone in the same boat?
Any decision letters/no ?
@Loltalia1 Looks like only Foster School of Business has been notified this week.
Has anybody who’s transcript loaded received their letters from the school or the admissions packet yet? It’s been almost four weeks since mine has loaded and had my status change, but I still have not received either in the mail.
@julie1823 what’s your major ?
Is anyone here applying for Foster has not received decision letter from the campus?

Hey everyone, I am joining this thread late but i am so anxious and nervous to hear back from UW. I am at BC right now finishing up my associate to transfer, i have about 92 credits from my old school. My cumulative GPA right now is at 3.49, Since June of 2014 I’ve been working full time at a bank, I was a teller when I applied to UWS, and now I got promoted to Banker (but of course they don’t know that since this happened after I submitted application).
What I am concerned about is that my first year of college I attended University of Alaska Fairbanks then transfer all credits to BC and graduating with AA from there. I wonder if UWS would consider me as an instate student or out of state student? (I am paying out of state tuition with BC).
@thunald It all depends on your residency situation. You would only be considered instate if you have met all of UWs residency requirements. I know some include having a Washington license, living on your own for x amount of days, being in the state for another reason besides education, having a full time job (not work study), etc. Since you are paying out of state tuition at BC then I would say you are considered out of state for UW. Hypothetically if you were admitted to UW then you will have to pay oos tuition until you graduate as well, unless you can somehow meet the residency requirements while being a student. However, I’m sure you may get some grace during your application review because you go to BC if you have accumulated a lot of credits there. Take what I said with a grain of salt though because the admission process is very unpredictable, and generally holistic. Hope I helped a little bit!
Hi guys,
so i got rejected by UW foster right, and i still have second option which is economics department. if i got admitted to the general admission because of my second option major, can i still apply for foster winter 2016 but didn’t apply to economics, and take general classes or non-business classes that is needed anyway in the Foster later?
@will96 I believe transfer student’s first quarter is directed toward their major. They are required to take introductory courses that admit them to their major (unless you applied for an open major.) I think it’s safe to say that you can’t apply for Foster, but I have not found anything on UW’s transfer site that says it isn’t possible. If your situation will determine your decision to attend then it is best to just give admissions a ring. Just so you don’t waste any time and you can send your intent to enroll to a different university.
Well they i met an adviser from foster and they said i can apply again, but my question was not about can i apply to foster again, but if i can just not take econ department and take electives courses needed for foster anyway. @Cole52
And introductory classes are taken in community college and not in the department @Cole52
@will96 Ohp, misread. Weird because my major requires all transfer students to take one intro course at UW before we can declare. I’m guessing it varies by college - I just saw Foster had much different requirements. Best of luck
Has anyone heard back from UW yet? Got the mail yet? I’m still waiting. I know few people who got their rejection letters before June.
Any summer applicants get a mail??
I am still waiting…
I was speaking to a friend who transferred to the UW through a local community college and he let me know that he recieved his decision the last week in June! This wait is too much! I just want to know either way.
Nope, nothing. I was looking at last years transfer thread and it seemed like majority of students (that applied to the general college) heard the second and third week. Then oos was near the end of June, and most of engineering was in late June and July. It would be nice to hear by the end of next week…
