I applied for summer quarter and I just got a rejected. Do you think I can still appeal since the school starts in less than 2 weeks.
@best22 the uw website says the appeal notice takes 1-4 weeks from when they receive the appeal. Assuming you put the appeal in the mail today its possible you could receive notice in time but very unlikely.
https://admit.washington.edu/Admission/Applied/Appeal#transfer here is the page with info.
@best22 This is also a really helpful guide. If you really want to attend UW then I believe it is worth a shot.
Not to shout fire in a crowded forum, but from the looks of last year’s, a crapton of people had their transcripts load like 6/9-6/11, and then got their letters that weekend. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/1590747-uw-autumn-2014-transfer-thread-p15.html
I haven’t been monitoring how in sync stuff has been so far, but hopefully it is!
@decayedsyllables I noticed that too. There seemed to be a big wave over the last few days of June as well!
Not sure if it is useful but I did get an email from admissions related to a CADR I needed to resolve, and was able to do so via a class in Summer quarter at Bellevue College. The email came in on the 8th and had a deadline of 6/9 for a response, so it seems if anything - reviews are happening now for sure.
@CallMeADawg I had CADR clarification email on April 1st!
@SeattlePea @CallMeADawg I know CADR is admission requirements, but is that also required for a transfer agreement between Washington CCs and UW? Just wondering because I’m oos, and we have TAG and TAP for the UC system to guarantee admission/priority. Of course I’m unable to get the Washington agreement but I’m just wondering if that’s how it works in Washington as well. I know they also favor in-state students.
@SeattlePea My application deadline for the Online BA program was May 1, 2015 (Which was extended until July 3rd, with priority for those that applied by May 1). If UW General has gotten to my application, which I would assume is significantly further behind the general masses line, then I would also assume it means that they are getting close to all of their decision making.
@Cole52 The Direct Transfer AA program is only related to credit transfer. The guarantee is solely limited to UW accepting the credits, provided you took the classes listed from the options on the DTA worksheet. It has nothing to do with CADR requirements at all. Those must still be met, and even getting all of the items on a DTA degree completed doesn’t guarantee that the CADR is met.
@CallMeADawg Ah, yes, I had forgotten that you applied for an online program. I know we’ll know eventually…
@Cole52 My understanding is that some schools in Washington accept AA degrees in lieu of things like CADRs (like Seattle University) just not the UW.
Still waiting for my Fall admission decision…
Does anyone know if they would send out emails for the decision? or is it just by post only?
Also do you think it’d hurt to call the admission office and ask about my application status?
Thanks
@TylerL14 It’s just by post, but some departments notify by e-mail, which can come before you get your letter–what is your major? If you called them, they might tell you something like when the next batch of letters is being sent, but I don’t think they could tell you when you specifically will find out. Couldn’t hurt though, and I’d like to know when the next batch is!
@TylerL14 You can check to see if MyUW has changed your application status, and look to see if your unofficial transcript has loaded. Some people sometimes get theirs to load 4-5 days before they receive their letter. I’m not sure if they have done any batches for arts&sciences yet. Doesn’t seem like it, but another batch should be released any day now. Hopefully…
The MyUW home screen changed for me. Just registered for my A&O session.
@JWRinPNW Congrats!!! What is your major?
What’s your major?
Good to hear that people are starting to see MyUW change for them. I would be curious to know if folks see that the unofficial transcript trick is still working or if they fixed it.
I applied to general admission online not to another major just yet, will that take until end of June for me to know?
