UW Transfer Winter 2019

@nrmiller74 @nowapumpkin I’m sure you will hear back soon!! Maybe monday!! Don’t worry about it, I think if they were going to reject you they would’ve done it in the first wave (because it seems like no one has been rejected since the first wave).

My best guess is that we’re on what I imagine is like a temporary waitlist. They likely accept a bunch of people in a first wave or two and at the same time they also reject those that were at the bottom of the applicant pool, so to speak. Then, they’re probably waiting to see how many of those who have been accepted are actually going to pay the deposit and enroll. If they’re still enough spots, they’ll accept or reject whoever is left (in waves) (me being one of those people I assume, since I haven’t heard back yet). This is probably why the process takes so long. This is all speculation and assumptions but it’s my best guess for the method they have for admissions. Still have my fingers crossed though

Anyone gotten their financial aid yet?

Still haven’t heard back… It is a devastating feeling tbh… I know that it’s 95% likely to be a rejection but even that I still hope to hear back now so that I could start planning for the next step – the wait is really torturous.

@cy2135 I felt the same way before I heard! You never know until you actually hear so just hold on for a little longer. You should hear by early December for sure!

Just got accepted today, I’ve been nervously waiting all week. Good luck to those still waiting!

Has anyone else been accepted yet? Still waiting to hear back  not feeling good about this

Haven’t heard back but I think I was rejected… I already signed up for the 11/30 orientation at UW Bothell–which is in 2 days… it’s a sad realization but it looks like I would have to attend Bothell for the next two years…

It’s been another week and yet still nothing…

Don’t lose your hopes just yet for those who are still waiting to hear back. Yes, I think you are in the wait list, because they haven’t denied you yet. I got in UW Tacoma first and went ahead accepted their offer, so I can get my Financial aids and orientation going. I didn’t think I would get in Seattle campus, because I haven’t heard anything when some students here started to get accepted. But, I also learned from here that they have system of application evaluation, that they screened instate CC students first, then they would look into the out of state students. I’m an out of state student. Then I got my acceptance letter from UW Seattle a week before thanksgiving week. They stated that I have to respond by Nov, 30. So, I think you will start to hear something from them shortly afterwards. Because there might be some students turned down their offers. So, more room for others. Keep your hopes up!

I’m an in-state cc applicant – so I think that technically means I was not accepted…

What are your stats, if I may ask?

Yes, I graduated with an AA last summer from CC with 3.9 GPA. Then I transferred to state university, majored in biohealth. I was there for only two terms, then I have to stop and move because of my husband’s military orders. While at OSU, my gpa dropped to 3.85 because I have one A- grade from chem lab. So, that was my sum GPA when I applied to UW Seattle and Tacoma. I want to get in Biochem major now, so when I applied, I selected Pre-Health as my major, because I still don’t have O chem in my pocket yet. My personal statement is less than 700 words as they recommended. I think mine has 640 words. I just stated my goals and stick to the point. I figured they wouldn’t want to read the essay that is too long. I also transferred 4 times. If counting UW, it would be my fifth. This part made me unsure if I would get in. But I made sure I included that to my statement that is due to our military situation. So, that’s my stat.

Well, I mean they still think your application is good to keep in wait list round. But, they gave a go to the first round instate CC student first, then first round out of state. Now, if some students in the first round turned down the offers, the spaces are available for the waitlist round. I think, if they don’t like your application, they would already denie you. But, this is just my assumption. After all, I didn’t think I got in either.

I don’t know if anyone still reads this but I FINALLY GOT IN!!! I was really freaking out since like Thanksgiving but my page is completely updated and everything. My major (anthropology) is open so when I got into the school I automatically got into my major. Since I never posted them before, im gonna summarize my stats real quick for future ppl or whatever. I’m coming from a 4yr public research uni in NY and have a 3.2 GPA here rn. I did really well my first two semesters and last year went through some stuff that contributed to a huge grade drop. Wrote about it in my essay and I’m sure that helped me a lot with explaining my situation since last year is why I wanted to leave this school anyways. I’m only in a few ECs here but they are really special to me and have a larger time commitment than most clubs and orgs. I took a ton of college credits through a program at my HS way back when and have 5 college semesters under my belt so the insane number of credits I have may have helped too. I don’t know if they considered my standardized tests scores because I only sent them unofficially but I got a 2020 super score on the old SAT and a 34 on my ACT. Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard yet and can’t wait to meet fellow Huskies in a few weeks!!! Now, to figure out how to get all my stuff and myself to seattle from ny… Lol

Told you not to worry! Congrats! Have a safe move! My bf. And I just drove across country past fall from CT. It was rough, but it can get worsted in winter. Take a lot of extra cautions, and good luck!

I tired to reserve A&O session, but the website said, “There are currently no available section at this time.” Did anyone get the same error?
