UW Winter 2014 Transfer Thread

I know it's a little early for this, but I thought I'd start a thread for students who have applied for transfer for Winter 2014. We can help each other through the waiting game :)

I agree its a little early, but I am already done with this waiting game! Although once this next quarter of school starts, I will have a distraction to keep me from obsessing over it so much :)

I’m also anxious to find out! Let me know when you guys hear anything ;)

I’ve been refreshing my unofficial transcript every day…so far, no dice, unfortunately! Once it gets to be November I’ll probably stress even more.

I’m in the same boat. Worried my GPA at CC wasn’t high enough, didn’t go to a transfer Thursday. Most of all I’m hoping they let me know before the deadline for Seattle U. It’d be great to save that 50 bucks.

Candela, what do you mean you’ve been refreshing your unofficial transcript? I heard this is a way to find out early, but don’t really get where it is and what exactly that means? :/

If you click on financial aid from the my uw homepage, it is in the upper left corner and unofficial transcript is one of the options. If it loads, and you have a student number, its a pretty good indicator you’re in. I have already been accepted by winter for Tacoma and have a transcript, so I may have to look for changes, or just wait for a letter…Yuck!

Okay Thank you! That is very helpful to know. Congratulations on getting accepted to Tacoma. I applied to Bothell also, just in case. Hope we get accepted to Seattle!

I live in New Mexico and I’m so ready to get out of here…I applied for the 2014 winter transfer and i’m praying everyday that I get in!!! It’s so agonizing! What are some of the majors that you guys applied for?! I want to minor in marine biology and major in oceanography! Hoping that isn’t a comparative major and I get accepted. Please let us know when anybody gets any news!!! I’m dying to here :]

I applied to the College of Arts and Science, and if accepted, will apply to the Anthropology of Globalization program. I would eventually like to pursue human rights interests and maybe law. I actually e-mailed admissions yesterday, and they said they were on schedule and just waiting for the admission notification period to begin. I am hoping that we here something by the first week in November :/

Helps if I could spell…hear*

Gahhh! It’s so hard knowing they’re ready to release everything but we still have to wait a week at least!

I applied as a Philosophy major in the College of Arts and Sciences.

I applied as a Business major to the Foster School of Business. Really hope we hear back in a week. All they say is we will hear back November-December, so really hoping it is not December! :)

I really hope it’s not December…I still have no place to live! I can’t really do anything till I know I’m accepted. Living in New Mexico has it’s challenges, hopefully the letters come soon!

Do you know if they already sent out rejection letters? cause i know they send those out first. I also applied for winter and haven’t heard anything yet, i’m anxiously counting down till November. I’m a Cellular, Molecular and Developmental Biology Major. I applied for Fall but didn’t get in so i re-applied, since this is my dream school. hehe. crossing fingers.

To be honest, I thought they sent acceptances and rejections together in batches. I too applied for fall, but because I am very non-traditional I had a few more requirements to complete. That said, admissions was nice enough to call me and strongly encourage me to apply for Winter admissions, so my fall application was just closed due to missing information. I really hope I don’t get a rejection letter, that would be a crushing blow; however, at this point I just want to know! So here’s wishing all of us speedy notification of acceptance!!:)

Well when I got a rejection for fall they let me know pretty quickly. About 4 weeks after. So that’s why I’m thinking they send out rejections first. Just a hypothesis. Good luck to all!

Only 4 weeks after the application deadline? That’s really unusual. I’ve never heard of them releasing any letter (acceptance or rejection) before the notification period begins.

Yea. The notification period for fall was June-July and I got a letter in March. That’s why I’m assuming they send out rejections before acceptances. Anyways, time will tell.

The only thing I can think of is you didn’t include all the necessary documents, or you didn’t show evidence that you would complete the CADR before entering UW. Those things result in a straight-up denial without UW doing a “comprehensive evaluation” of your materials. Well anyway, I guess we’ll all hear back about it soon.
