If you read the beginning of this thread you will see information that I posted about UWC USA. My daughter is a 1st year there and I visited in October. Their website also gives a great deal of information. If you don’t see what you need to know, send me a private message and I will try to get more information for you. Congratulations!

Atlantic and USA both have excellent reputations academically. There apparently are some fantastic teachers at both schools. Students get into the best schools in the world. I hear they’re both well run schools with lots of money. The castle at Atlantic used to be owned by William Hearst and is decked out with 2 pools. They’re both really isolated, which I think contributes to a more united student body. USA is in the desert, where it’s pretty sunny. Atlantic is on the coast, and I’ve heard the weather can be rainy and be frustrating at times. Both campus and the surrounding environment are incredibly beautiful. I think the living accommodations are similar to what you can expect at a college, dorms and nothing too fancy. There’s a ton of CAS(Extracurricular activities) to do at both schools. I think at Atlantic there’s a specific service where you dedicate a large portion of your time to such as lifeguarding, running an inshore life boat, marine environmental monitoring etc. Everyone I’ve talked to at both schools seems to have a fantastic time. I don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Just an update…

The Indian selection process just got over(on April 9th) and we’ll be getting our results in about 2 weeks i.e around the 24th of April!!

Fingers crossed

Good luck! Just curious - Did you have more female applicants than males in India or was there a gender balance?

The next Saturday have Slovakian interview, I am so excited. I really would like to attend AC or AD. I jsut hope that I will pass the selection. Some advice how to prepare?

Hello everyone I’m Fatima Anta from America, Rhode Island to be exact. I never know how to feel i’m either extremely happy I got this far, then extremely nervous I still haven’t made it than, I feel adventurous and then it starts all over again.I had my interview around two weeks ago at Harvard which was extremely fun I’m not sure if everyone’s interview activity are the same but I was part of the Zante Tribe and had a great time. My top are Muwci UWCAD and I can’t remember if it’s Norway or Atlantic or Bosnia after that. Ardarshnet I find out April 24th too!!! and congratulations jeffers1407!!

Hey guys!

My interview for UWC Pearson is in two weeks and I’m so nervous! Hopefully I can seek some advice here!

What type of interview questions do they ask you in front of the panel? How do you stand out from all the other wonderful candidates with exceptional EC’s, grades, and references?

Any advice will help! :)

@mayzou

Some questions which they asked me during the dutch(in the Netherlands) selections were sort of this:

-what is it that you so much like about uwc?
-How do you pass your time outside of school?
-can you give us any negative qualities of yourself?
-a lot of questions about my interests
-what are you planning to do this summer?

Yeah well sort of those things, but it was more a conversation than an interview. And YES!! I foud it very nerve wracking: I remember myself afterwards running back to the main building(where the rest of the activities found place) as fast as I could just to get lose of all this energy which was cramped up. It was such a strange feeling.

Anyway, good luck! In which country are you taking the selection process?

@Apollo
just wondering: does your daughter only gets home during the main breaks(winter and summer)? And does the fact that she is already at a college affects in any way the selection process of your son?

Hey everyone! I heard the US-people got their letters today?! Any news?

Good news! Heading to Montezuma NM! How exciting :)

I’m heading to UWC-USA too, dr1976! You should join our Facebook group if you already haven’t. See you there!

I’m headed to UWCCR! I think a Davis Scholars Class of '14 facebook group should be created. Apparently there’s a real lack of connection between US UWCers compared to other countries, because most other countries are small enough that there can one spot where every applicant congregates. I want to know what’s going down in other UWCs!

Congratulations, guys!!! You’ll be having a great time! Good luck to everyone that hasn’t got their results yet
Yeah, we have a group in Germany, that’s quite useful… we all kow each other anyway :D

I’m glad you got Costa Rica, Rainycity! But your poor parents! After two years of sunshine you may never want to return to your rainy city Congratulations!

If you are a U.S. UWC student or alumnus who got in as a junior after being denied as a sophomore, I would like to pm you with some questions. My S will be reapplying. We’re wondering if they will keep his original application on file and whether we will have to resend test scores etc.

I’ve had my interview today, they’ll let me know the results until the end of the month. Let’s hope for the best!

I am applying from India, havent gotten my hands on my application as of yet, could some one please tell me whats expected of applicants

Hi, I am from Singapore and I recently applied for the scholarship and got an interview for this Saturday! I am incredibly nervous and shocked (plus ecstatic!) that I got an interview. I was wondering if anyone is aware of the nature of the questions the interviewers would ask? Also I am aware that people have said that the NCs hold picnics and the interviews proceed from there. Are the interviews 1-to-1, or are they conducted in a group?

I am incredibly scared but have been dreaming of this for a bit now, and I would be devastated if I didn’t get a place! Really hope I can get the scholarship, even if partial! My top choices are UWC USA, UWC Atlantic and UWC Adriatic, in no order. :)
