@v00jin Well, someone asked on facebook group, and they responsed that it will be in a couple of days. I wanted to take Gradjansko class, but my grandfather didn’t give me, since i live in patriarchy. He is strictly against me being an atheist.

@Petar123
Which group? “UWC Serbia”? I guess I’ll have to it join now. :)

Hi, I’m a UWC applicant from England…UWC is how I came across this site. UWC seems like a great opportunity so good luck to everyone here. I wished I’d have known about UWC last year, so I am applying for the first time this year
@Apollo6 I’m in year 12 (UK) so Junior in America and I’m a UWC GB applicant
@Stuffzhappenin I’m a third culture kid too :)

@poppyatlas nice to meet you :)

@v00jin Yes, in that group. Wait, you have facebook? :)

@PoppyAtlas Woooo! TCKs rule! On a more serious note, welcome to CC; it’s a pleasure to meet you.
To feed my curious mind:

What countries have you lived in and which was your favourite? Also, what are you preferences in terms of the UWCs?

@Apollo6, my son applied this year. We’re from the midwest. He would welcome any placement and I would welcome any feedback you could provide, specifically on the interview process/questions, should he be granted one. Thanks!

Anyone watch the inauguration?

Also, I think I’ll make a continuous list:
Apollo6, US Midwest parent of D13 UWC USA, S14 reapplying this year.
Stuffzhappenin, Sophomore (Grade 10)/Year 11(England)/Secondary 4(Scotland), British-American-Nigerian, UWCGB National Committee applicant.
Applesauce21, junior grade 11, year 12 (England), British UWC applicant
PoppyAtlas, I’m in year 12 (UK) so Junior in America and I’m a UWC GB applicant
lunascreatures, Midwest (Kansas!) 10th grade USA applicant

Thanks! I was just about to make that list now that I am on a computer and not on my phone. So far we have at two applicants in the U.S. and 3 in GB (and India and Serbia?).

@Stuffzhappenin I haven’t really lived in many countries but I have dual nationality British/German. I have lived a large part of my life in Jordan (the middle east). Which is very different from England. My top college choices at the moment are Mostar, Mahindra and Adriatic but I also really like the look of Swaziland, Atlantic and Hong Kong. But I really wouldn’t mind any UWC.
What are everyone else’s top choices?

So, there seem to be a lot of Midwestern Americans. Apollo6, do you know anything about Midwestern interview locations? I assume Chicago is one of them, and maybe St. Louis?

For at least the last two years interviews have taken place at Earlham College in Richmond Indiana. I think 6 hours is the maximum drive so if you are within 6 hrs, your interview would be there. I don’t think there were interviews in Chicago or St. Louis.

That’s 8 hours for me! I just guessed Chicago and St. Louis because of the size, but I do remember reading something about a Kansas City interview a few years ago, and KC is definitely not as big (nor is Richmond). But I’m willing to go anywhere :)

@PoppyAtlas Wow, very interesting! So are you in the U.K. now? Jordan seems like a very intriguing country to love in-the only experience I have of the Middle East was the short stint we had in Saudi Arabia. Nonetheless, it’s nice to know I am not the only one who has this conflict of nationalities.

Although I’ve said this a lot I’ll say it again my favourite campuses are Hong Kong, Canada, Italy, Costa Rica and the U.S. Canada and Italy offer full scholarship places so I’m gunning for them. But I would love to go to any of the campuses even the one in Wales. Then again who doesn’t love Hong Kong?

I have a friend at Mahindra this year, and his interview last year was literally 15 minutes away from our little suburb. Funnily enough, the city it was in wasn’t even the state capital, so I don’t know. I guess it really just depends!

@mirvinvitela: So then one of the Midwest interviews was in Wisconsin? If it wasn’t in Madison, what city was it in/near? (Even though the locations may not be the same, trying to figure out what location might be the nearest one should I be lucky enough to get an interview … the odds are against me, but I can still dream!)

It was right outside of Madison, super close by. So technically the capitol, but not really haha.

Richmond, IN is less than 1 1/2 hours from our home. I was thinking there was serious travel involved, should he get an interview.

For me it’s actually not possible to get the Atlantic castle for a day - the trains just don’t run. But it should be fine if I get an interview since the applicants stay overnight, and so I can get a midday train It takes nearly 7 hours to get there though
