@lunascreatures: Oh, don’t get me started on Michael Gambon …

DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE, he shouts, shaking Harry - a scene, which in the books, was an excellent example of Dumbledore’s amazingness: “‘Did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire, Harry?’ he asked calmly”

“Today, we’ve experienced a really terrible loss” --Movie, Goblet of Fire. Oh, really? Was it a really terrible loss? What was it lost, your place in your novel? No? It was a STUDENT? Why don’t you say it with a little LESS expression?

Gaaaaaaaah. I can also kinda blame the director for that one, and most of the weird stuff in GoF - Gambon was way better in PoA. But I really haven’t watched the movies that much, I read and reread the books instead, which saved me from a lot of movie angst. I just watched a lot of clips of Luna. Because Luna, in the words of Evanna Lynch, is a breath of fresh air.

You guys are cracking me up, literally… And I completely agree with everything you guys are saying about movies vs. books

You can tell I like Luna. lunascreatures…My first-ever screen name was LunaLupinTonks, and yes, I just smashed together my three favorite characters.

@lunascreatures I’m sure you have, but have you heard the story about how Evanna Lynch was casted?

Also when he shouts ‘QUIET’. I can’t stand it when he shouts that. Dumbledore never shouts like that. I like that Evanna Lynch is just really real. I bet she stood out, glowing, from all the others who auditioned. She’s like the real life version of Luna.

This conversation is literally making my life. By some stroke of fate, if I happen to meet any of you through UWC or elsewhere- I know I’ll have found people a lot like me :)

I was one of those kids who memorized every single harry potter spell, down to the first time they were used and their etymology. We are most definitely in good company hahah

I’m pretty sure my brother made a book containing every single spell… All the work was done for me ;)

@lindzmm yep! Even the bit about them calling and asking “you’re not going to shave your eyebrows, are you?”
And she had previously corresponded with Jo, who responded to her letter about how HP helped her through an eating disorder, and she even got released from hospital for a little while so that she could get OotP early. Evanna was the truest fan on set, and is a FANTASTIC person. I met her, very briefly, too :)

So, you wonderful HP fans, the (kinda sorta maybe) test is this - have you heard of/ever listened to wizard rock?

I have not… I wish I was a better fan… If only I had more time on my hands

@lunascreatures: A first screenname after my own heart! I absolutely love Luna. But. When the last Harry Potter book came out, all of my cousins were at my house, and we all dressed up for as characters. Hardcore. And I was Tonks. I had a WeirdSisters T-Shirt and blue robes, and bubble-gum pink hair and a pig nose and everything. It was epic. And then Rowling killed Tonks off. I’m still scarred. (BTW–Our characters included Tonks, Dobby, Trelawney, Bellatrix, Slughorn, Harry, Fred (with Skiving Snackboxes), Hermione, Delores).

Favorite Harry Potter memory?

I was 5, and OotP came out. We went to the midnight release, and I beat all of the hardcore nerd adults at Harry Potter trivia. They weren’t pleased, but it was awesome.

Unfortunately, the golden age of wrock is now over (I missed its peak by virtue of being too young, but I caught the tail end) and I really really miss it. Summer always reminds me of Harry Potter, wrock, and magic…and I get really nostalgic listening to old wrock. Waaaaaaah. My first ever HP event was a wrock concert…

hahah only Charlie My favourite HP memory was when I went to the midnight release of the last movie, and everyone had been waiting the whole day in tents and in costume just waiting for that one like “Not my daughter you *****!” and when it finally came, cheered for the next 30 seconds :)

Ok. I see that b i t c h is officially censored here… what if we wanted to talk about female dogs? ugh.

I’d shuffle that playlist, and not start with the song that the link starts with because it’s really about wrock itself and not the books. More diversity that way :)
