@Ripcity, probably fire service is my favourite activity at Mahindra. I compete at competitions where one part is about fire service rules, tools and so much more. I am in love with firefighting so If I went there I would try my very best to get into that activity. There are videos on youtube about their selection. They have tasks like running in mud and so on.

I love love love love working with and meeting people. I genuinely have to talk to people wherever I go. To be honest I’d probably be annoying to live with, so if I don’t get in, it’s lucky for others. But seriously, I LOVE PEOPLE

it so strange to hear about how other countries schooling schedule is. My school goes from 7:25-2:10 and we have eight periods of 45 minutes a day. I know my friends who go to a nearby French school have school from 8:30ish- 5:30ish. Its a crazy long day, but they have multiple breaks of a few weeks, where as we have one week for Christmas and one for Easter and those are all of our breaks during the school year (I’m sorry- we have one week for “winter” and one week for “spring” break–being politically correct here). One week is NOT enough Also, we have strict core requirements we have to fulfill to pass- its very hard to take certain classes just for fun…
Also; I hate to sound like a broken record, but all of the schools DO emphasize the outdoors. It was one of Kurt Hahn’s main points in the schools…

@farmgirlmoo, I was thinking while studying geography ( don’t ask how, I don’t know) and I realised the same. I love talking to people and optimally listening to their opinions. But today was in my mind and it was quite bad. I realised now, looking back on the day that noone is like me in my class. I could chat with them during all the breaks about anything but they don’t do so. It is like I say something ( I am enthusiastic) and they are like (bored voice) yes. That is the point when I relise that I don’t have to say anything else just be quiet. I don’t know how they can spend 8 hours in a class without talking. The only questions are like: Who has their homework done? Can I copy it? What is the next lesson? And I feel so outsider in this aspect. So probably we would make good dorm mates or even roommates. :D

@Ripcity14 yeah it’s pretty actiony but it’s so cool and exciting and it’s so broad and amazing it’s basically cherub for Americans - like the writing style and the way it doesn’t hold back on any topics like even rape etc. I cant even emphasise how much I lurv the series haha I read them all in like 3 days!!

Oh wow. 2 days and BOOM 15 pages. My eyes are quite tired right now!

So I had loads of answers lined up and after so many they just all muddled and faded :P

As to school schedules, this is my 8th school so I’ve known a lot. Right now, I’m in a British school so it’s like way more relaxed than the French schools I was in before. At the moment, we start school at 8:45 (though I have to wake up at 7 to wake and get the bus and stuff) then we have 2 periods (50 mins each), 20 min break, 2 periods, 55 min lunch, and another 2 periods. We finish at 3:30! Of courses, lunches are pretty full but there aren’t that many ECs at my school… Way more than where I was before though!
In the French school I was in before this one, we started at 8:00 and finished at 5:30 with 8 (55 minute) lessons a day. The school before that your schedule changed each days so like some days you could start at 10, finish at 11 for lunch, go back at 4 and finish at 6, and other days it would be like 8 to 12 and 1 to 6…

Crazy huh? Sorry for the long essay!

@Pashay, WOW 8 schools?

That is crazy mind! 8 schools! wooahh!

I have a friend in France… He’s 19, and he’s sitting exams… He has 4 6hour maths exams! crazyyyyyy

Woow 8 schools…That is something!
And here I am the student of the same school for 11 years…

4 6 hour maths exams?!! That’s mental oh my gawd!!

@Hedwig8 i know! it’s crazy, right?? AND it means he hasn’t got around to writing back to me!! hahaha!

@MediDuet I feel exactly the same!! Except that most of the people in my class are just interested in gossiping about people and parties and getting wasted etc. I get that people all like to gossip sometimes, but it’d be nice to sometimes talk about current affairs or just generally about the wider wworld than just focusing on ourselves for a change??! You know?

Jeeeheez ya see this is exactly why I want to go to a UWC cos we get to find out about stuff like this damn it’s so cool haha

Hey just wanna ask everyone how their usernames came about? Mine’s cos I love Harry Potter and I was born on the 8th and it’s supposed to be the lucky numbers for Scorpios (which I am) :)

@Hedwig8, mine is because my favourite basketball teams, the Portland Trailblazers are nicknamed ‘Rip City’ and 14 was my favourite footballer (soccer), Thierry Henry’s number.

@Ripcity14 cooool :)

i chose my username because my other usernames had m(first initial of surname) and 00(because i couldn’t choose a number) so then it looked like m00, which is appropriate because i live on a farm! hense the farmgirl part!

@farmgirlmoo, aw sick you live on a farm? And it says under your name that you’re in Wales so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say you have Border Collies right?

yeah, i do!:’) and hahaha aw good guess! i used to, but she died now i have a cross between border, and bearded collie :)
