@lalalarae I think my parents are quite supportive of me going to UWC, they were both in boarding schools since they were like 13 anyway…but I guess traveling across the world to attend a UWC would of course worry them a little… I think it’s natural for parents to worry about that ;)

Lool my parents don’t give a flying fudge

@hedwig8 i’m sure they do!

and aw I’m proud of my welshness ;)

I want to became a doctor. I’ve always wanted to but my mum told me not to when I was 7. I always knew I wanted to be that but I didn’t say it to anyone until 7th grade. I always said I’ll be an architect because she supported that. But since 7th grade she can’t influence me and she is supportive of me becaming a doctor by now. I also have musician, paramedic and pilot in mind. (Pilot only if rules change)
My mum said she only lets me to attend a College in Europe. My dad lets me go everywhere. Although it took a while to convince my mum even to let me apply. But I hope if I get anywhere she’ll let me go.

I’ve had an interest in acting, drama, and performing arts since the age of 2. since i was 3 i wad taken to every single performance by my local theatre company, and my mam finally reluctantly let me join ay the age of 8. I’ve always had a passion and determination to be involved in productions. it is my dream to be an actress, but i want more than just that. i also want to know I’ve made a difference in the world, and changed many people’s lives for the better. drama therapy is one possibility, but i am still thinking of other options!

I’m not really sure about what I want to do yet but I am pretty interested in doing something with performing arts or arts education… its my dream to work at a theater :)

I’ve always wanted to be a doctor (like MediDuet) and am now leaning towards cardiovascular surgery. My back ups would probably be to be a lawyer or a pastry chef (I love baking) or something like that. Maybe even a psychologist (although it’s still a type of doctor)

Hi guys! I’m applying for fall 2014 admission as well i’m a sophomore, and I hope to be a plastic surgeon with a speciaty in facial transplants or a pediatric ophthalmologist

My life’s dream involves spending a month each year performing charity surgery in developing nations, so this is what inspired me to consider UWC

@teenagecrime hello! lovely you found us all and that’s a really great dream!

all of us are so different! yet all wanting a similar thing:’)

@teenagecrime hi welcome! Good luck for your UWC application :D

Wow, there are three of us by now who want to go to medical field. :)

Haha my parents were so skeptical about me applying because they thought i’d end up dropping the medical dream and being influenced with like a hippie way of life but i’d say they’ll reconsider after reading everyone’s posts. :)

What colleges does everyone else want the most? For me (no order right now) Arm and hammer, Pearson, Atlantic, Nordic, Adriatic

Are the main ones that my parents would even CONSIDER letting me attend… Also maybe the one in the Netherlands massatricht I believe? They basically want me sticking to north america and europe lol

What other schools are everyone considering? I’m applying for some private schools as well

Im totally leaning towards being a human

@teenagecrime wow you’re lucky, it’s either UWC or just the crappy state schools in my area for me :)

@teenagecrime, actually quite a big percent of UWC graduates go to medical field.
So it is not rare to attend a UWC College and then continue your studies in medicine.

@teenagcrime hi and welcome!!! Yay anther doctor, and a surgeon at that! I want to be a surgeon as well! Going to uwc will most likely increase your chances of getting into a gray college! What country are you from?

do you guys think any of the colleges would have a particular advantage for medicine

I am also looking into the medical field! I would most like to become a general surgeon, but I have interned for a veterinarian surgeon and it is amazing! :)

@teenagecrime Welcome! I have very similar school choices to you and I know that RNC specializes with red cross so they have some medical knowledge and Pearson does some first aid, but I don’t think it is too focused on medical programs

My mom just forbade me from MUWCI, Mostar, UWCSEA, Swaziland, and Dilijan I feel slightly crushed… but she is still considering letting me attend AC, AD, RNC, RBUWC, USA, Maastricht, or Hong Kong

Yay, four prospective surgeons I can’t even express how much I love surgery and all of its areas.
@teenagecrime, if I understand your question right, RCNUWC would be the best probably. It is not medical orientated but it has service with the Red Cross.

@santoast
i’m from the USA lol :)
