Vagelos LSM Class of 2015

Who else got in? Trying to figure out who my classmates will be for the next four years :]

Me! We should start a group on fb :)

Official group: [Login | Facebook](<a href=“Vagelos Program in Life Sciences and Management Class of 2015 Public Group | Facebook”>Vagelos Program in Life Sciences and Management Class of 2015 Public Group | Facebook)

lol this is going to be a fun transformation to follow. First, euphoria. Second, pride. Third, suffering. Last, regret.

Unless you guys are savants, I strongly suggest you enjoy the present :D

^Why regret :(

save for a couple people, most get their GPA destroyed.

Quite a few people enter the program hoping to do pre-med. The professors want you to do research. If your gpa isn’t high enough, medical schools won’t take you forcing you into research.
=> this is from an LSM kid I talked to last year (freshman)

And I’ve heard of people dropping dual degree programs as soon as they arrived to campus so I suggest you talk to people who are in careers you want to pursue and figure out if the risk / work load is worth it.

But for now, go brag :)

Don’t dash their hopes. I’m at a top-ten medical school now after graduating summa from Penn AND winning national awards for my research. If I could do it, they can do it too.

Medical schools are definitely NOT populated with students who earned high GPAs because they took the easier road course-wise.

I’m in LSM. I am only a freshman, but I work about half as hard as I did in HS and am getting all As (I think). Consensus here is that if you were smart enough to get in, you’ll likely do very well here. So, no worries yet guys =D.

Also, congrats on getting in!!! This really is a fantastic program that will set you up well to do any of those things you likely are considering doing. Medical school, bio/pharma, consulting, and IBanking are all kind of final destination of the students in this program and from what I have seen, everyone does extremely well when they leave LSM. The LSMers are also some of the most brilliant and fasinating people that you will ever meet. So, you guys are in for a great four years. PM if I can do anything to help you guys/answer any questions.

^I SEE YOU ROBBIE!! :D

Get off CC. we are in college now! meh.
ps we never had that brunch we planned :(

AHHH STUPEFY (ya…I know who you are but your username doesn’t make your name obvious like mine, so I won’t give it away by using your name =D ). YOU CAME ON FOR THE EDers too!

Haha ya its sad I’m still on. I should be like studying for finals or hanging with people, yet for some reason I wondered back onto CC. We also definately need to have brunch b4 break!!! Lets make it happen!

@necrophiliac

Umm…I think you’re probably getting LSM confused with Vagelos MLS.
