if they’re mailed tomorrow do u think they’ll be here by monday??

Depends where you live but i’m thinking it will only take two days at most for most parts of the us. Mail is actually pretty fast! I think I will get mine the 14th.

Ahhh, does this mean some people will hear Saturday?

I hope they mail them tomorrow!!

i really hope they mail them tomorrow. I honestly just can’t wait anymore. The suspense is killing me

I just called again and now the lady says we will receive them the 16th 17th or 18th. im so confused! i cant wait that long

so are the sending them out today or tomorrow, or next week? It keeps changing!

ahhhh why can’t they just email us? i need to know now!

I just called admissions and they said they mail it out on the 15th. I was looking at last years admissions blog and it said they mailed it out on the 13th. Has it always been the 15th for ED? Or was it the 13th last year?

My S applied ED last year and I’m pretty sure they mailed on the 13th which was a Saturday. He received his decision the following Tues - 12/16. Best of luck to all you EDers - Vanderbilt is a VERY special place and I hope you all get in!

my mom called today and they said that they will be mailing them the 15th

but i think that they might mail the tomorrow. i say the best bet is to keep checking the blog because they will make an entry when they send them out

i cant wait any longer!!! why cant they just email us!

I just want to know!!! Everybody is saying different things

Based on other schools, its a fair speculation that the stats for ED1 will be on par for last year. Dartmouth, for example, only had marginal SAT increases on ED. Vandy is one of the few major schools without a substantial ED app increase this year–so last year’s Vandy info is probably pretty good guidance as to your chances. No surprises, IMO. As to ‘hearing’, most have gathered the emphasis in admissions at Vandy is ‘admissions’ as well it should be. That means that e-mail and blogging and getting consistent info on the phone are secondary to the important task of decisions. Just assume you may have to wait another week to hear. Better to think of something else–like enjoying your Senior year; your family; finals; and finishing up apps to your backup schools–like Harvard:-) GL to all:-)

I think they are just sticking with their deadline and may actually send them before. Maybe some are telling the truth while thenothers are just restating the pre stated date for safety.

I think that the admissions councelors are having a great time by giving different answers every time someone calls.

The admissions counselors are not the ones answering the phones by any means. Vanderbilt’s admissions office has a large number of student workers in addition to their clerical staff. Since the creation of the blog, they have done an excellent job of announcing when the letters go in the mail. Stay tuned to that and I’m sure you’ll know soon! And, though I posted this in another thread, expect the letter to be small either way. You get your big envelope at the end of March if you are an ED admit. D’s class did get a nice fold up poster of Vanderbilt from Chancellor Gee in a separate envelope a few days later, but Chancellor Zeppos may not do this.

Re-reading my post above, thought it might sound kind of cold. I still have a very clear memory of the anxiety level at my house 5 years ago waiting for the ED decision to come. Particularly hard because a member of D’s hs class got his decision the day before hers came. I know it’s hard on students and parents alike and I wish you all good luck!!!

3 days you guys! good luck to everyone:)
we should post ED acceptances in a new thread

agreed! did anyone figure out if they have mailed them yet?

They usually do a blog post so I’m guessing Monday or Tuesday at the latest now :(
