Vanderbilt 2014 EDI Applicants Thread

This is a response on the blog: “ED 1 Letters will be mailed first thing tomorrow morning (12/15). We’ll post some information tomorrow about the newly admitted ED class.”

yo bro, I don’t know, I am just relaying some information that my counselor told me, which I guess would be the same person as yours redsox24 if you live in MA. Plus I don’t see the blog that you mention. But I am just trying to help others out, so if I’m wrong then sorry.

haha I dont care…it was a comment on the blog so I dont know what to believe. And yeah we both have the same counselor so thats pretty reliable

“ED 1 Letters will be mailed first thing tomorrow morning (12/15). We’ll post some information tomorrow about the newly admitted ED class.”

From the blog

but i also heard some speculation about the letters being sent out on saturday.

i dont know why vandy wld “lie” to us…the only thing i can think of is maybe they are saying that there mailing them tuesday so people dont call and ask about why they have not recieved their envelope yet.

then again…maybe im just desperate and im trying to make myself believe that we are finding out sooner than we really are…

ugh the suspense is killing me

Derrick,

If Ken S. said that then chances are it was he who mailed them…sometimes schools mail stuff a little earlier to some states so it all arrives at about the same time.

Friends, PLEASE assume that the earliest you will hear is AFTER Dec 15th. Otherwise, irrationality rules–which is unbecoming to people of your strong and meritricious character. I am parent of a frosh app and retired prof/admissions reviewer for a major university (not Vandy). Schools don’t like playing with students: they realize this is a ‘charged’ time. Go bowling or something. Just get on with it:-) And again, GL to all.

haha thanks vanderbilt2014, that helped to calm me down a lot

i’m so glad i posted that comment on the blog! at least we know that the latest we’ll get them is probably friday. i can live with that!

Jessica92 are you ED hopeful on the vandy blog?

I know it’s hard for all of you, as you well-know friends who have already heard from other schools and you feel like the last to know. My son had 6 friends rejected from various Ivy-level schools this weekend–with one EA admit: to Stanford. That young man had 1580 SAT’s and junior (as in third year of college ) standing, as a high school student . About as exceptional as you can get. So just because others have heard has no bearing on your decision.

If you don’t like bowling then go run it off. Or have a cup of mint tea.

I just dropped my son off at the gym so he can take it out on free-weights rather than pop:-)

yes I am! I figured someone should ask on the blog.

nice! I wonder what they mean by “We’ll post some information tomorrow about the newly admitted ED class.”

eric6691, i was wondering the same thing

but now that i think abt it…it probs means like acceptance rate for ED this year and maybe how many applications they received

Does anyone now if Vandy will also send an email. We have had friends already hear about their ED/rolling admission to Ivies and others via email first then followed by regular mail. One message came at 1:00 am on the day they “mailed” out their acceptances.

They don’t e-mail.

They will likely also post average stats like ACT and SAT. Anyone have predictions for these ranges?

Ok. Wonder why some schools opt to email. Seems more humane and in this day and age, more appropriate. I guess everyone will just have to wait it out a little longer.

Last year they posted the admit rate for ED1 and the stats of those accepted (SAT/ACT, I think class rank and other similar things)… it was nice as an RD applicant to see if I fell within the range, because my class was much harder than 2012. From what I’ve heard, difficulty/score ranges will be pretty similar to 2013, if not the smallest bit higher, since word is getting out about Vandy and their amazing amazing amazing financial aid.

Uh oh…higher isn’t good! ;)

they didnt post stat (in terms of ACTs and SAT ranges) for ED1 last year

they posted stats for ED1 and ED2 together

so tmrw will probs only say the number of applicants and their acceptance rate for ED1

I’m so nervous!! It’s stressing me out that noone knows a definite date as to when the letters were/are being sent out!! The anxiety is killing me!
