@bamtam I expect it to come tomorrow for me; I’m in NY too.

@destinomarriott and @runningtitan woahhhh chaps, lets not fight here. I know this is a very stressful time, but let’s let cooler heads prevail. it is what it is; nothing can change that now. I mean i’ll be the first to say i can’t just whip 20 G’s out of my ass like its nothing, sorry, so I’m relying on a hefty amount of financial aid myself, wherever I end up going.

That being said, no letter in Reading, PA here today. I practically dropped kicked my sports bag across the driveway, but oh well (plus I had to worry about taking an Intro to World Politics final at Lehigh today. Yeah, it was hell). here’s hoping for some speedy postal service, eh? Anyway, I think the plan going forward is to do some solid meditation, then overdose on NyQuil so I can get to sleep. toast to some good fortunes tomorrow eh? sounds like a plan to me.

My sister got accepted, another Atlanta acceptance. I just graduated from Vandy in May, glad to see her picking up where I left off.

You’re disgusting. Obviously he thought he was going to get the aid he needed based on the info he received. I think he did the right thing and I hope he’ll be able to make it to Vandy somehow.

Oh, and for those who were asking about schools similar to Vanderbilt, Lehigh is a solid option. As I’ve alluded to, I take a class there (for free!) every Tuesday and Thursday, which means I miss my 4-7 periods and get to eat out for lunch (it’s bloody awesome). The kids are pretty chill, and the campus is mad nice. It’s a rather lofty engineering school too, for those of you who are into that sort of thing. It’s probs a bit easier to get into to, but I’m not currently looking up the statistics. That being said, Tulane is pretty awesome too. If it wasn’t so far away, that would be my second option, but alas. And New Orleans is, for lack of a better term, the ****. Outside of that, not so sure.

Rantan, over and out.

@runningtitan I needed a hefty amount as well. But seeing as I got rejected, maybe I’ll see you in Athens next year! Everywhere else is too expensive. Vandy was just about the only private school to offer enough aid. Tulane and Wake require us to pay 20,000 dollars or more which is about a quarter of our finances (way too much). Congrats to everyone who got in. You’re quite lucky!

Big day tomorrow! Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard back!

Acceptance received in California today(Thurs)! Was thinking we would be waiting till Saturday to get the letter. Stats are the same as almost everyone else posting: 32 ACT, lots of APs, 3.9 unweighted, 4.2 weighted, lots of community service and sports.

Good luck everybody!

has anyone been accepted without financial aid. if so, i’m interested in the envelope: is it a one page acceptance or multiple pages? thanks

Jewell95-check out the University of Richmond. My friends son just got accepted there and with a Very generous fin aid package. I think they are very similar to Vandy with the no loan aid and generosity. They visited the school and loved it.

Still waiting here in Louisiana! Maybe today. Good luck everyone!

Today’s gotta be the day for NJ!

vandywashdc -

I was accepted and didn’t qualify/receive financial aid either - if you get in under these circumstances, the envelope will have your acceptance letter, a letter saying that you didn’t qualify for financial aid, and a sheet about putting down a deposit. there will be a bright gold envelope in there too for you to mail the deposit back in, so if you see YELLOW as you’re opening it, you’re in! the envelope won’t be super thick, but it will look like it has more than just one sheet of paper (like a rejection letter) in it.

good luck :D

thanks so much crmx113. i hope my daughter gets her letter today and i’m hoping it has a gold envelope in it. good luck everyone

Have all acceptance letters had gold envelopes or just the ones where they are not getting aid? My daughter still hasn’t opened hers because she is waiting for her birthday tomorrow, but I can see a gold envelope. Is that the sign that she is not getting aid? I am hoping not.

I live in Michigan and I’m expecting my letter today, SO NERVOUS!

How much is the deposit?

The gold envelope is to return your matriculation deposit to secure your spot for the class of 2017! that’s GREAT if you see a gold envelope! The deposit is $400, and it goes towards any fees. Can’t wait to get home tonight and read all the acceptances!

Nothing in Massachusetts today. Another day of waiting!

Ugh. Why does Massachusetts have to be so far from Nashville?!
