btw, I am an asian girl… if that changes anything!

@vandybound123 I’m a fellow high school student, so I honestly don’t think I could tell you anything useful about chances.

I have a question for anyone on the thread. So…I took the November SAT simply in hopes of locking down National Merit Finalist status (I’m NMSF but I need a good SAT score to back it up). This seemed unlikely as I didn’t have a great SAT score initially, which is why I decided to not send Vanderbilt any score (and didn’t report any on the Common App). I didn’t really study for the Nov. SAT, so I was REALLY surprised when my score went up 120 points for CR+M. It is now the equivalent of 2 points higher than my ACT, and is in nearly in the top 25% of Vandy’s class from last year, so I would hate to not have used this score and then get rejected. I told my admissions counselor the score and asked if she would be able to receive it in time (it was just a couple of days after the 17th, which was the deadline for scores). She said that she wouldn’t receive them in time for decisions to be made, but before I even asked her, I sent it priority (2-3 business days) to Vanderbilt.

My question is, do you think they got it in time to help it factor into a decision (even though she said she would not)?

As a reference for those of us that are counting down, use this:

[Countdown to Dec 15, 2012 3:00 PM in Nashville](<a href=“Time since Dec 15, 2012 3:00 pm started in Nashville”>Time since Dec 15, 2012 3:00 pm started in Nashville)

We probably won’t receive them on the 15th but why would we want a countdown to the following monday… also, I chose 3pm simply because my mail has usually arrived by then.

5000, I don’t know…I think they are crazy busy right now, and I know everything is scanned I’m to an electronic file, that’s the first for this years. 2 people review the file. It would depend on it being received, scanned and put in the file before someone reads it!

Because I’ve got nothing better to do, I made a spread sheet from last year’s ED thread. Looks like all but one person who posted their stats got in with an ACT 32. Seems like that is a common score on this thread? Should make a few feel better?

However, I saw 3 with siblings there that got rejections…which make me feel worse! Ugh!!!

moonpie, crossing my fingers for you. sending kind wishes to all applicants. Vandy is a wonderful college but it is not the only wonderful place to get an education.

Called the office, and they said that decisions will be mailed out on either the 13th or 14th since they’re closed on the 15th (Saturday)

@FiveThousand My ACT scores were delayed because of Hurricane Sandy and I didn’t get them in until last Thursday. I called up my admissions counselor, my guidance office scanned my report and sent it via email as a PDF, and I sent my scores online. It never hurts to still send it, and as long as you keep them informed I’m sure they will still take it into consideration.

I just got an email from my admissions counselor saying that my letter should be sent the 11th and arriving on or around the 15th. I live in Illinois. :)

@candelabra- did you email your admissions counselor before that?!

Yes, he was just responding to my email! Haha didn’t mean to worry anyone! :)

Haha okay, I was gonna say if he just randomly shot you an email to tell you that then I’m extremely jealous because that would be a very good sign! Haha but anyways, thats good news!

Monopie, could you please post your spreadsheet? I’d be very interested in seeing it.

Yeah, it would be great to see that spreadsheet! Thank you!

I would love to see that spreadsheet as well. Thanks in advance.

I’ll try to post it later…it’s on home computer, and I’ll be home late. But it’s really relevant to my daughter, because I was using her scores as a benchmark? But it has those who posted ACT scores, GPA, Rank if available, and then accepted/rejected. Mostly people who were accepted posted stats, a few less that were denied.

hey @persiandad can I ask you a question (besides the one I’m in the middle of)? - if you’re an applicant, why does your username have “dad” at the end of it? Just curious. I’ve been wanting to know and just never got around to asking.

My name is misleading, sorry about that. It’s kind of like an inside joke between me and my friends at school. Do you know if Vandy’s for sure sending letters out on the 11th?

well, we’re officially into the single digits of days left until decisions…kinda scary…they could be looking at our files one last time right now and we don’t even know it.

so does anyone know when decisions are being mailed out? 11th?13th?14th?15th?

My guess is 13th, hopefully good for people graduating in '13.
